Inspired by primetime medical soap Dr Kildare, starry-eyed 18-year-old virgin Rosie Dixon (Ash) decides to become a nurse and enrols at nearby St Adelaide’s Hospital. The harsh reality of life on the wards is somewhat different from television, however, since the nurses are dominated by a tough, unfeeling Scottish Matron (Beryl Reid – wonderful as usual).

Unfortunately for Timmy, Dad and Mum are in a ghostly mood too, and they have a very unusual (and unclothed) coming together . . . Sharing a room in the nurses’ home with an upper-class nympho called Penny Green (Carolyne Argyle), Rosie becomes the focus of sexual attention for a gaggle of lecherous student doctors whose main priority is shagging rather than treating patients.

Whilst this was the last in the series two further films, Confessions Of A Plumber’s Mate and Confessions Of A Private Soldier, had been planned, but never materialised. The reason is believed to be that then Columbia Pictures president David Begelman the man who had given the go ahead for the original films was implicated in a cheque-forging scandal and was consequently fired or he resigned, whichever way he was replaced and his successor had no interest in continuing the series. This was the fourth and last of these cheap but cheerful comedies, with Robin Askwith returning as an over-sexed entertainment officer at a camp run by an ex-prison officer. Australia After Dark (1975) This 1975 'Ozploitation' pretend documentary - shot on 16mm film then blown up to 35mm for distribution - looks at… Linda Hayden played Timmy's fiancée in Confessions of a Window Cleaner and French co-worker, Brigitte in Confessions from a Holiday Camp, while Marianne Stone played a woman in the cinema in the former and a waitress in the latter. Adopting the title Rosie Dixon – Night Nurse, the film was produced by experienced filmmakers Davina Belling and Clive Parsons, who spent over a year auditioning young hopefuls to take the leading role.

Silent Partner, The (1978) This Canadian remake of a Danish film called Think of a Number (Tænk på et tal) has timid bachelor bank… Edited for Syndication: When aired on Talking Pictures in 2023, Holiday Camp saw many racist jokes cut as the channel was already on thin ice for racial content. Nothing is going to keep Timmy’s Mum (Doris Hare), Dad (Bill Maynard) and sister Rosie (Sheila White) from a free holiday at the camp. Plumbing seems an agreeable enough occupation for Sid South (Christopher Neil) whose job offers him ample opportunity to bed a variety of nubile girls.
