When Tim Burton decided to tackle the Batman mythos in 1989, comicbook adaptations weren't the billion-dollar industry darlings they are today. Truly, if there wasn’t a superior 4K release, this would be top of the heap but for folks not looking to upgrade, this is a terrific presentation. Deleted Scenes with Director’s Commentary– Two scenes, running around 8 minutes, are shown with optional director’s commentary by Reeves.

The five segments of the gallery are: "Visualizing Gotham: The Production Design of Batman" (12 minutes), "Building the Batmobile" (8 minutes), "Those Wonderful Toys: The Props and Gadgets of Batman" (9 minutes), "Designing the Batsuit" (7 minutes), "From Jack to the Joker" (8 minutes) and "Nocturnal Overtures: The Music of Batman" (8 minutes). That's because the original four 'Batman' films now feel surprisingly dated, and it's rather shocking to see what time has done to the Dark Knight's '80s and '90s big-screen output.Additional audio options include German and Italian Dolby Atmos, English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish 5.

I can't say Batman's sonics will woo the most stringent audiophile, but I had a difficult time drumming up any major complaints. Details are terrific with fine facial features, makeup effects, and details in Batman’s costuming or Penguin’s makeup coming through beautifully. But considering this disc doesn’t come packed with Dolby Vision or HDR10, that is a small quibble for an otherwise fantastic presentation.Even twenty years removed from its debut, Burton's Batman continues to influence countless filmmakers working to introduce their cherished childhood superheroes to audiences around the world. A ton of other behind-the-scenes content will give fans new insight into the making of the film and overall world of The Batman though, including insight into how Reeves created the characters for his dark and gritty version of the Dark Knight. That moment, and others that follow, suggest we might see a different Bruce Wayne and Batman in the sequels—someone who’s on the ground, helping those in need. Becoming Catwoman– Zoë Kravitz talks about her casting as Catwoman as well as what she brought to the role (she’s no Michelle Pfeiffer).
