Description

Pause and rewind live TV, record two programmes at once and record entire series at the touch of a button. The 1TB hard drive holds up to 600 hours of recordings, smartly organised into categories and series. In Wi-Fi networks with multiple access points, the T3 would not always connect to the access point with the strongest signal The split event would record but there would also be duplicate entries that showed as failed to record “due to power loss” The ‘Watched’ status of recordings would fail to be set when a recording was played to the very end. When recording a series, the system could unnecessarily re-record an episode or create a duplicate recording of 0 seconds in length.

The first thing you’ll notice when you start moving between screens on the T3-R is the speed. Or rather, you WON’T notice it – we’re used to things working fast, and when they do, we take it for granted these days. It’s only when things chug along (try to operate your Telly’s built-in Freeview interface!), that we notice how slow they are. As with every Freeview device, the number of channels it can find depends mainly on your aerial and on the Freeview signal and reception in your house. Once the scanning is finished, it’ll jump straight into Channel 001, which is, in most cases, BBC 1. When padding was set to Manual a recording could fail to start if it was triggered before the hard drive was initialised.

v2.05 Software Update

Following (normally temporary) EDID failure during the HDMI handshake the T3’s Audio Output would change to Auto. This primarily affected Audio Receivers and Soundbars. Freeview are reporting co-channel interference issues but you'd expect the TV to be affected if that were the cause 4 Nov 2020 - High pressure affecting UK from 4-8 Nov 2020 When HDMI Control is enabled, the T3 also has a setting to ‘Turn Off Devices’. Turn this on and when you press the standby button on your T3 remote it will also put your TV and any other connected and compatible devices in standby too! Add better information about disk space usage (total used, amount of free space, amount of space used by recordings, among of space used by titles in the Trash, etc.). It’s important to note that if you have two consecutive recordings on the same channel then the padding between them will be ignored – the first recording will end at the scheduled time and the next recording will start at the scheduled time. The same applies if you have two consecutive recordings on different channels and a recording on another channel that overlaps both of these recordings.

The T3•R would detect a major retune event and prompt you to retune, but sometimes after retuning the retune status would not be cleared, prompting you to retune again. The update will happen automatically in standby mode. Alternatively, you can access the update manually through the settings menu.Setup is refreshingly straightforward: just hook up the PVR to a network connection and store channels. (Manhattan sent us two boxes to test the Wi-Fi performance after our original review encountered issues with it. We’ve concluded that the issues in the review were down to interference, and that the box offers solid enough connectivity.) Our suggestion would be to hard-wire the network connection if you can, to avoid any weak Wi-Fi connectivity or wireless interference. When you turn your T3 on for the first time after it has updated, a message will be displayed confirming the update has taken place successfully.
