Legion was fantastic! I kinda guessed his twist but the reveal was still very anxiety-inducing though. He's a tortured morally grey hero and I can't wait for him to make me question why I'm still on his side. He's hot okay? That's all you need to know 😅

the plot has a lot of contradictions, but worldbuilding and character’s development is definitely better than at the first book. The plot was very predictable but it didn’t distract from the fact that I was enjoying reading the story. There is a reason I read books with the same tropes constantly, so it’s almost expected on some level I know what is going to happen. The plot remains too predictable even for my taste of reading the same tropes over and over, that it almost feels childish how predictable the “twist” was.I am not sure what the title means to the story as neither court really used Ice or Ash…but overall from a storyline perspective this sequel was better than the first book, but I’m a little underwhelmed and feel this is more a 3.5 than a solid 4 that book 1 was. The ending was surprising! I love it when books suprise me like this and have a lot it things that you didn’t see coming.The world building I think needs the most help, this is supposed to have Vikings in it and I’m not getting that at all from this. You can make the characters use Norse terms, braid their hair and carry hatchets into battle, but it doesn’t make them Vikings. Sorry 🤷‍♀️. I don’t buy it. The once-vibrant golden apples of the cursed tree metamorphose into symbols of affliction and suffering, reflecting the curse’s power to taint even the most life-giving elements.
