The lens in itself is made for short flange distance, it is based on the E-mount version and it is a rather good lens actually.

With the right lens profile and software, lateral CA is often easily correctable by radially shifting the colors to coincide. Above: Taking a closer look though reveals a problem with my old 85 1.8 with noticeably softer details that look blurred compared to the much crisper RF models.
