I would use this book to teach students how a little bit of kindness towards others can go a long ways. Your words, like your reviews, bring books to life and give them a voice before the front cover is even turned. I love the concept of this story Ella uses her night light to give others Hope and she helps them out with their problems.

Other: This story has a real fable feel, like, the logic of it doesn't make much sense but that's ok, it's a fairy tale kind of story with a lot of whimsy. They are part of the reason it has a hopeful and somberness to it and the detail and colors are stories in themselves. I rated it 4 stars because I think there are some better books about friendship out there even though this one was sweet. I would recommend this title for purchase for those collections that have strong friendship themes and that need materials on night activities and fans of Lucy Fleming.
