Description

Alex Cross, on his first case with the FBI, confronts a perplexing mystery that leaves his new colleagues bewildered. Across the nation, individuals are vanishing in broad daylight without a trace. Alex discerns that these abductions are not driven by ransom demands but rather involve a disturbing underground trade. The enigmatic figure known as the Wolf, a ruthless criminal who has unleashed a reign of terror in the world of organized crime, appears to be the puppeteer behind this operation.

Can you believe this is the 28th Alex Cross novel? I can't. It seems like only yesterday I was reading Along Came A Spider and although I've maybe missed a few Cross thrillers along the way, I love dipping into this so familiar series and getting my fix of the lovely Cross family. His pursuit of justice leads him to the Niger Delta, right into the den of the psychopathic perpetrator: the Tiger. Lots of questions and very few answers to begin with but several plot lines gradually converge via twists and turns, and surprises. As a reader you are drip fed information but you know that there’s always vital clues that Cross and his team know that you don’t. I found myself desperately wanting to know what was in the file or what someone had told them. How dare they know more than me!!! Everything is pursued very logically, there’s never a sense of “why would they do that” or something obvious being missed. You’re fed just enough information throughout to have you guessing what’s going to happen or who did it without ever being given enough that you can foretell the future of the story. That’s a lot of things to investigate. I’ve got to say that in this story there’s more slowly evolving, hard grafting policework than elaborate psychological theories.British diplomat Geoffrey Shafter is a man who never loses, he is prepared to play the game of games for the highest stakes of all. I would like to thank NetGalley and the Publishers Random House Uk, Cornerstone for an eARC for an honest review. The Alex cross series, since its first appearance in Along Came A Spider, has been a leading standard in crime thrillers, particularly with the psychological profiling that Alex brings to the table. The plots are complex but relatable, the investigations incisive and detailed. Best part is the character buildup – everyone of Alex’s family gets a lead role in one or the other book of the series, so by the time one has read all of them, you start relating and empathising with each one of his characters – sometimes even the villains. Sampson and Cross are in a race to find the killer in two mysteries. An "important" couple murdered in their car, and girls going missing and then found dead. It takes them a lot of investigating to get to the bottom of each of the murders, and the twists in the storyline really were some of Patterson's best.

Deadly Cross (Alex Cross, book 28) by James Patterson

I watched an interview with one of James Patterson’s co-authors & he had nothing but praise for Patterson. He said Patterson gives a very detailed outline of what he wants & has the final say in the completed book. Patterson is giving unknown authors an opportunity to get a book published. Reply With each step closer to the killer, Cross finds himself confronting influential and dangerous individuals who hold great power and will go to extreme lengths to safeguard their secrets. In the higher echelons of society, where only one certainty remains – they will stop at nothing to protect their hidden truths. As a shadow force advances on the nation’s capital, Sampson alone must protect the Cross family, his own young daughter, and every American, including the president. Alex Cross Must Die/Cross Out (2023) Running alongside this case is the rape and murder of several young girls locally, are the cases linked??

Alex and FBI agent Ned Mahoney are also helping his wife Bree in her role as chief of detectives and investigating the recent murders and deaths of local girls Deadly Cross is a fabulous entry into this series - it's gritty, detail oriented and heavy of the police procedural side of things, more so than the immediately previous entries. This is the work I love from JP. It felt like his earlier work, which in my opinion is the best of his work. When a police officer is killed, Detective Alex Cross steps up to take command of his force who are scrambling for answers. As a brutal crime wave sweeps the region, an intriguing connection links these deadly scenes. James Patterson is an American author and producer. He is a global composer of fiction for all ages. He is married with one child.Alex Cross and Jezzie Flanagan are about to have a forbidden love affair-at the worst possible time for both of them. Because Gary Soneji, who wants to commit the “crime of the century,” is playing at the top of his game. Soneji has outsmarted the FBI, the Secret Service, and the police. Who will be his next victim? lex Cross is on the wrong side of the law. Charged with gunning down followers of his nemesis Gary Soneji in cold blood, he is being turned into the poster child for trigger-happy cops. Cross knows it was self-defense. But will a jury see it that way? This could be read as a stand-alone book but you’d get more out of it if you’ve been following the series. Further murders in California, and then on the East Coast as well, completely baffle Alex and the FBI. Is this the work of a cult, or role players, or even of modern-day vampires? Desperate to stop the deaths, Alex teams up with Jamilla Hughes, a savvy woman detective, and the FBI’s Kyle Craig. As Cross delves deeper into the case, his worst fears materialise when he receives a chilling call from his deadliest adversary, the Mastermind.

A young woman is found hanging from a sixth-floor window, and Alex is called to the scene. The victim recently gave birth, but the baby is nowhere to be found. Before Alex can begin searching for the missing newborn and killer, he’s called to investigate a second crime. All of Washington, D.C., is in a panic, and when a third body is discovered, rumours of threeserial killers send the city into an all-out frenzy. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was very well written, with great characters. There is a lot going on, but it's never confusing, and it is an absolute roller coaster ride, in fact extremely poignant at one stage, I will not reveal more! Also in on this most intriguing case is the world’s bestselling true-crime author, who sees patterns everyone else misses. The writer, Thomas Tull, calls the Family Man murders the perfect crime story. He believes the killer may never be caught. They delve into her early years in Alabama, unearthing a world of corruption, secrets, and powerful enemies who wanted her alive. Deadly Cross opens with a double murder of a respected School Principal and the ex-wife of the Vice President of the US, shot and found in fragrante delicto during a midnight tryst in the VP’s wife’s Bentley. There’s another ongoing Police investigation into a serial rapist and murderer of teenaged girls from a small chunk of the Metro area, who’s escaped capture for over 15 years. Recently two girls were abducted and found violated and murdered about 48 hours after their kidnapping.
