I agree with some of the other reviewers that at times the writing felt like a series of facts being presented, rather then a storyline being built and the facts of the case revealed. and all the attention paid to the private eye's family, which signified absolutely nothing in the grand plot. Under pressure to act quickly, the family hire a nanny to reduce stress but more is caused… This book was just brilliant.

The cast is split up amongst so many people with different agendas, and there is, despite the title, no one strong character with whom you identify. A young woman at graduation is shot, and they have to figure out who did it, but everyone has secrets it seems.

Summary: A gripping psychological thriller told from the shifting perspectives of several characters. From the police to neighbors to the Adlers themselves, I found the reactions and the consequences a bit too much for suspended disbelief to hold.
