There were a bunch of subplots that I felt were left open, but probably not important enough to be resolved in the next book, and the fact that at one point, Helen was left in the lobby waiting for Persophne and then never mentioned again? I have been really enjoying listening to books, it’s easy to make notes and the emotion and extra layer of performance you get is so wonderful.

At the same time, Theseus continues with his agenda against the Gods, allying with the hate-group Triad in an effort to bring down all of Olympus. If he truly didn't care about anyone's opinion this would make sense, but he tells Persephone more than once that HER opinion matters. Not because I thought that it was too young for me (I still adore it), but because it meant I would have been exposed to the world of Greek myths far sooner. She has created an alternative world that is so unique, and she has depicted the gods and their stories in new and interesting ways. She Reads Romance Books helps romance book lovers find their next book boyfriend because life is better with a love story. There was a lot of sex, and there was a lot of brooding and whining but not a lot of actual events or communication.

I am absolutely going to be drawing on my own experiences from learning about Greek mythology, so if you have any suggestions or helpful tips for those people who want to learn more, please leave a comment down below!

I know this may sound weird, but the place I started on my journey to learning about Greek mythology and becoming completely obsessed with it was Percy Jackson. Clair’s interpretation of the lovers took the online book community by storm and proved tremendously popular with the hype from BookTok and Bookstagram. If you’re more of a video lover, then you’re in luck because we publish youtube videos twice a week, and so far we have published this video on the 12 Olympians, a video all about Hermes, a video on Artemis, and a bunch more! This book covers just over 6 months, and Persephone doesn't just ~not~ stay away from gods, she ends up becoming very acquainted with many!

Faced with a side of Hades she never knew, and crushing loss, Persephone wonders if she can truly become Hades’s queen. I've been looking for a fiction book about the gods for a long time so when I found this I jumped at it without really looking into it and I regret it. A chance encounter with Hades changed the trajectory of Persephone’s life and now the fate of the world hangs in the balance. Understanding more about Scarlett and her choices when writing the perspective of Persephone has caused me to warm a bit more to her POV, but I’m sure I’ll enjoy Hades’ perspective more 😂 Anyway, my opinions on this series are sort of chaotic but it’s safe to say they are still VERY steamy, unique and overall, enjoyable reads! The Persephone version of events is a more whiny teenager rebelling against her mom in the real world than the powerful Gods and Goddesses of Greek Mythology. The character driven style of this book really resonated with me, and I think that may be why I liked it so much.

His love and kind of obsession for Persephone will lead to a lot of adventures and casualties, but considering how much he was been waiting for her, I think everything was worth it. The beginning with “ A Touch of Darkness” was very smooth and considering the background, it is the best book from the series. It's also time to retire a dynamic where one party (usually the woman) says something that implies she isn't interested, and the other party (usually the man) "sees past" her protests to what she "really wants" and informs her of her own desires. The Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan is the place I’d start for anyone wanting to dip their toe into Greek mythology. A quiet life under the radar is impossible for Persephone once her relationship with Hades goes public, but their relationship is also threatening to expose her as the Goddess of Spring. But finds out Hades had made a bet with Aphrodite that he couldn’t make someone fall in love with him in 6 months. Was the Adonis we meet bound to be the same mortal that Aphrodite falls for in the myth, or was he a modern man with the same name?
