Description

A husband and wife with secrets. Livia and Adam are protecting their secret from each other. One believes his/her secret is damaging. The other knows his/her secret is heartbreaking. Both are keeping his/her secret from the other as it is the day of Livia’s 40th Birthday party. A party she has been waiting to have for a long, long, time. Both intend to tell the other his/her secret after the party. But how? How does one keep it together? Who does one keep on a happy face when his/her world has been devastated forever? Snart, Stephen (2021-02-26). "Hear me out: why The Dilemma isn't a bad movie". the Guardian . Retrieved 2021-02-26.

In their early years near Bristol, patterns were established that still haunt them. Because they had no money, Livia took in laundry and built a hidden nest-egg. She thought it was a secret, but it wasn’t. Months before the birthday party Adam says that with Josh going away this summer and with Marnie in Hong Kong, money is sure to be tight. This is such a good book, but it has cost me a fortune in tissues!! Maybe I should consider buying shares in Kleenex 😉. I love these stories, but I cannot help it. I always get very emotional. I was glad to see that even when the friend found out what had taken place she was able to forgive her and to still be friends. They all learned a lesson that no one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes and sometimes you have to be big enough to forgive.Livia and Adam have 2 children, Josh (22) and Marnie (19). Marnie has been studying in Hong Kong for almost 9 months. She is a main player in 2 of the dilemmas brought forth in this book.

Josh,” I say, stopping him. “It’s fine. It’s not a problem. If you don’t want to go to New York, don’t go.” A) Talk to your wife about it and find out that she's actually saving money because she wants to go travelling with you? I would recommend this book to the fans of the above as well as fans of Liane Moriarty, Amanda Prowse, Susan Lewis and anyone else looking for a beautiful family drama. The story has a lot of twists and a lot of reasons and soul searching by all the characters. I enjoyed the story and all of its twists. I truly loved Livia as a character, Adam and her marriage story made me cry, affected me deeply because in my opinion you’re not growing up till you get married and spend your life with someone, discovering yourself and learning more about your partner in crime! When you get married, you learn how to share, how to fight against tremendous challenges life is throwing at your way, because your marriage teaches you to be selfless, mature, logical. Mostly marriage also teaches you to be blind, mute and listen more, act lesser.Such a scandal can destroy the already fragile family roots, so Livia keeps it to herself and decides to tell her husband later in hopes of enjoying these last few hours together. Congratulations on a fantastic book that I won’t forget any time soon. I appreciate the opportunity to read and review. In fact, the father of her baby is only one of several dilemmas Charlotte will be facing. With her son being born with a rare disease, quite naturally, Charlotte will make the best decisions she can for her child, even if it means revealing the truth of that single night, something that could cost her dear friendships. This book is written in a mix of third and first person perspective and the protagonist is Charlotte and Tiff. The benefits of books written in first person perspective are as long as they are well written it makes you feel that you are being spoken to by the protagonist and it can create more of a bond between yourselves and them. .
