Clark's father, who was also cured, was also brought to Earth-2, reunited with his family once again. Honestly, I can’t blame Jon Kent for thinking War World targeting the earth looks like a job for Superman. The Guardians Of The Universe battle both the zombies of the ALE and the heroes who disapprove of their plan to massacre victims who could otherwise be cured. seemed like instead of coming to the conclusion that all life is sacred and important, like they did with Big Bartha earlier in the series, they just gave evil a face so it could be punched. He somehow really is able to craft stories about these characters, in genres that usually do not hook me, and he manages to reel me in.

I admit I feel a bit cheated by not seeing how the heroes saved these characters, but it is great to know they’ll have a happier ending in this Elseworld. Taylor also seems to have become bored with zombies as a concept or genre, and more interested in developing his mix-and-match concepts that aren't really that intresting like they were in the Injsutice series. Sure, but Taylor continues to make subtle changes to current DC characters that make us love them even more…Jonathan Kent and Damian Wayne, to name a couple. I'm happy that this what-if/elseworlds storyline has come to a close, but I wish that this volume was more satisfying. What began as a battle for Earth has become a war for the galaxy as the epic final chapter in the massive DCeased franchise is here!

While on Oa, the heroes have gathered and are told that billions of lives were lost and at least 12 planets have perished and that the anti-life equation needed to be halted now. The penultimate issue of DCeased: War Of The Undead Gods did a lot to show our heroes finally get the big victory over Darkseid and the Anti-Living army. Meyer does get some great pages of script in his portions, especially in a fantastic moment with Cyborg – I’ve seen it before in Tom Taylor’s Justice League/Power Rangers crossover, but it looks way better here. Though the Thanagarians could have been victorious, it was due to the Rannian's protector Adam Strange who kept them at bay. I just wish that the final villain was something that was a real threat that we were following from the beginning.

Taylor made sure that Darkseid didn’t just fully turn to the light side as he did not hesitate to remind Guy Gardner who he is.

They then learn that this was Darkseid's doing and that he was infected and that the dark portals, now known as "Doom Tubes", were only accessible by Anti-Living and dead. I hope Todd McFarlane is reading this series, as these would be some excellent action figures to have in a collection.
