This driver software is an exclusive ASIO driver to output audio signals from the computer by using Multi Player. To use Multi Player by connecting the unit to a computer on which Windows is installed, install the driver software on the computer beforehand.

The Program and Documentations are “commercial computer software” and “commercial computer software documentation” as those terms are defined in 48 C.F.R. §252.227-7014 (a) (1) (2007) and 252.227-7014 (a) (5) (2007). If you connect Multi Player to your computer without installing the driver software first, an error may occur on your computer depending on the system environment.

Before installing the driver software, be sure to turn off the power of Multi Player and disconnect the USB cable from both Multi Player and your computer. a) To install a single copy of the Program in Your computer or mobile device, to use the Program only for Your personal purpose complying with this Agreement and the Documentation (“Authorized Use”); Program” means all or any part of AlphaTheta’s software licensed to You by AlphaTheta under this Agreement.

Using the CDJs to control your laptop DJ software – Nowadays, a CDJ plus mixer set-up can be used like a massive controller, simply controlling your laptop software. With Rekordbox it is really easy (after all, Rekordbox is Pioneer DJ’s own software), but it also works with Serato, Traktor, Virtual DJ and djay Pro AI. If you really don’t want to “ditch the laptop” or change your workflow too much, but you feel silly insisting on being allowed to bring your DJ controller to club gigs, this could be the way for you Restrictions. You will not copy or use the Program or Documentation except as expressly permitted by this Agreement. You will not transfer, sublicense, rent, lease or lend the Program, or use it for third-party training, commercial time-sharing or service bureau use. You will not Yourself or through any third party modify, reverse engineer, disassemble or decompile the Program, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law, and then only after You have notified AlphaTheta in writing of Your intended activities.Severability and Waiver. If any provision of this Agreement is held to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the extent possible or, if incapable of enforcement, deemed to be severed and deleted from this Agreement, and the remainder will continue in full force and effect. The waiver by either party of any default or breach of this Agreement will not waive any other or subsequent default or breach. The message [Installing device driver software] may appear when Multi Player is first connected to the computer, or when it is connected to a different USB port on the computer. Wait a while until the message [Your devices are ready for use] appears.

Nowadays, CDJs have pretty much all the features you find on DJ software – the only thing you’ll possibly miss is a sampler, because CDJs don’t have samplers built-in like DJ software does– but otherwise, DJing with them is similar to using laptop software. You get waveforms, sync buttons, key change and key sync, hot cues, auto loops and so on. So really it’s just a case of getting familiar with the layout and workflow. While using a Mac (OS X) installed computer, use the standard driver software already installed on the OS (installation is not required). You agree that any breach of this Agreement’s restrictions would cause AlphaTheta irreparable harm for which money damages alone would be inadequate. In addition to damages and any other remedies to which AlphaTheta may be entitled, You agree that AlphaTheta may seek injunctive relief to prevent the actual, threatened or continued breach of this Agreement. If you’ve DJed on Pioneer DJ Rekordbox controllers, even that will be easy, as all the latest Rekordbox controllers have a similar layout to pro CDJs anyway. Even the mixer sections on these controllers are similar in layout to the mixer you’ll likely find in the pro DJ booth, namely the Pioneer DJ DJM-900NXS2.
