As such, if a group discovers a vulnerability in a target's system, it also likely means they've discovered a vulnerability in their own system. I’m usually fine with slang/dialect in novels, but in this case I couldn’t, for the life of me, imagine Will speaking like that. My Goodreads’ pals have become so in tune with my house cover addiction that they are now recommending books with houses on the front for me to read.

The author has a special way of capturing your attention and ensuring you are fully immersed into the story and the two characters.

The characters were believable yet unlikable while keeping horrible secrets from their pasts that will need to be revealed. It’s their six month anniversary, it should be perfect, the house is a secluded modern architects dream and thus will give them the privacy they desire. The author’s vivid descriptions had me fully immersed in the book and feeling the character’s fear, especially in the final chapters- wondering who would survive. I could not find one element in this story that paralleled If I Stay in the slightest, and comparing Zoe and Will to Bonnie and Clyde is highly exaggerated to say the least.

That's not to say this was not well written, I just couldn't connect with the pros entirely throughout. He knows enough to get her a fake ID that lists her age as eighteen, though they never actually use this once, and to expect that the cops will be looking for them. Encryption methods are quickly becoming too advanced to break and laws in the US are prioritizing the privacy of American citizens over intelligence collection, meaning that the NSA and other intelligence agencies are facing an uphill battle for signals intelligence. Overall, I really wanted to fall head over heels for this book, but in the end it just fell flat in more ways than one.In this locked room, high‑concept thriller that's part The Guest List, part The Girl Before, a couple's romantic weekend‑getaway is not what it seems. Also some of the decisions made by both characters seemed to be made purely to drive the story in the direction the author wanted and felt kinda clunky. It is wildly entertaining but equally massively thought provoking- it is one of those books that sits with you afterwards and you'll turn over in your head finding your reaction to it in cycles. This book centers around a "romantic" getaway weekend between a predator professor and a young impressionable student that goes awry.

My three stars suggests middle-of-the-road but in actuality, I was on opposite ends regarding several aspects.Zoe finally found her perfect partner in Will, her life had been chaotic before she met him, she lived with an abusive father and her mother died when she was only 6 years old. With many twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat this book is very well plotted with plenty of hints that things may at any time take on a sinister change. The book is divided into three parts, one for each day they remain at the house and starting with an appropriate epigraph.

Plus, I'm not sure if it's just me, but their relationship screamed 'UNHEALTHY' based on their actions, thoughts and declarations of love every 2 seconds (which was driving me insane!I complement the author in her use of amplification, imagery, metaphors and similes to add colour and depth. It plays its cards extremely close to the vest so I won’t say anything more about the plot so you can discover the craziness for yourself. Es gab für mich in der ersten Hälfte unglaublich viele Längen und dadurch wurde auch meine Vorfreude gedämpft. However, it builds and builds with tension escalating intensely towards a blood curdling end and you have no idea how it will play out.
