If, after careful consideration of alternative treatment options for pain management, NSAID treatment is necessary from about 20 weeks, limit use to the lowest effective dose and shortest duration possible. Consider ultrasound monitoring of amniotic fluid if treatment extends beyond 48 hours. Discontinue treatment with NSAIDs if oligohydramnios occurs. Hazardous and harmful use. Nurofen Plus contains the opioid codeine and is a potential drug of abuse, misuse and addiction. Addiction can occur in patients appropriately prescribed Nurofen Plus at recommended doses.

Nurofen Plus can cause life-threatening or fatal breathing problems (slow, shallow, unusual or no breathing) even when used as recommended.
