If a "Swap" card is drawn, the player may switch one of his or her cards with one of any other player's cards. However, the player is still not allowed to look at either card. This is the only action card whose activation is optional. Without looking at his cards, each player places his four cards face down in a line on the table in front of him. Draw 2 – Gives the player the ability to draw up to 2 cards from the draw pile. If a player keeps the first card, they cannot draw the other, however. When playing with younger children, players leave their two outside cards face up, but leave their two inside cards face down. Each player has four cards. Throughout a round, players attempt to replace their cards with cards of lower point value. Hopefully you can remember your cards and not give yourself more points on accident! SETUP

Reverse Charades is a twist on an old favorite. Instead of one person acting before a large group, Reverse Charades breaks that group into teams. When it’s your team’s turn, all but one player work together to act out the prompt. Players add the point values of their four cards. This is each player's score for the round. The scorekeeper records each player's score. Remember that players are trying to get as low a score as possible.

Each player now knows two cards of each of the other players. Only the face down cards may be swapped with a Swap card. All other rules of play are the same.Now you will know what you have, or you can refresh your memory if you have forgotten what you have. Your turn is over and you discard the Peek card. This isn't my answer yet, just some observations. I might take a stab at creating a computer simulation that can be easily customized with different numbers of players, different player strategies, and possibly different rule sets (children's variant where the outermost cards are public information, and perhaps a reverse of the normal rules where the outermost cards are only known to player whose hand they are in, but the innermost cards are known to every other player).

At the end of his or her turn, the player may choose to end the round by saying "rat-a-tat-cat". All other players get one more turn, and then all players count up their points. Any revealed action cards at the end of the round are put into the discard pile and replaced with drawn number cards from the draw pile. Play to stay in the game and not reach 100 points. When a player reaches 100 points, he is out of the game. The last player in the game is the winner. Players may also choose to play to 200, or any other number of points. This is an example of how to score a round of Rat-a-Tat Cat after someone has ended it. The bottom player had a power card as one of the middle cards so it was replaced by the top card from the draw pile (a 9). The bottom player’s cards total 18 points, the player on the left has 9, the top player has 10, and the total for the right player is 12. All of these scores are recorded.

The ideal game if you’re looking for something easy to learn and teach to others, although despite being an easy game to play it doesn’t diminish the fun at all.
