Description

This is rated by players as one of the finest squash shoes of them all, being specially designed for the sport. That does mean you’ll pay a bit more for this pair of very stylish and high-quality shoes than you will for some others, but for experienced and serious players this shoe is a popular choice. The SH-A922 (not the catchiest name we’ll admit) is one of Victor’s headline shoes – here’s what they offer: The advanced technology used in the construction of the Kobra 2 is very impressive, and designed to help with both grip and cushioning. These are for adults and they are available in sizes 9 to 11, which is a touch limiting, and they are designed fort comfort as much as performance. Inner cage helps reinforce the shoes. This is both necessary and welcome, given their relatively thin fabric upper.

Designed in a few different colors and suited for both men and women, the Salming Kobra Shoe is another of the leading squash shoes. The Salming Kobra provides firm and stable positioning for players in the midst of fabric and mesh. This feature is great for foot ventilation. Seeing that squash is a fast-paced and rigorous moving game, the more flexible the footwear, the better the player is able to manage their game play. We like to make specific emphasis on the qualities of outsoles, as they’re one of the principal aspects of every shoe. Outsoles are the elements that determine the activities for which a shoe is suitable for. Other materials may be replaced with less suitable options, but the outsole is one of the key pieces that you just can’t get wrong.OK, I know this is the FOURTH Asics shoe I’ve recommended already. Asics is a huge player in the court shoe market and they have a ton of good models. I’ll get to some other brands in a sec. The number one consideration in buying a new pair of squash shoes is to make sure the shoes fit correctly. While it may seem like common sense, this can’t be missed. Make sure your shoes fit your feet correctly! There are a few products on the market to help you keep your squash shoes from getting smelly. Depending on your needs, there are sprays and other methods for deodorizing your squash shoes. One of the easiest ways to keep your shoes smelling fresh is to put a dryer sheet in each shoe after you are done playing. Do squash shoes have good support for ankles and other joints?

The upper and inner are synthetic materials designed for toughness and also to be as light as possible, while the gum sole is the usual combination of outer and mid-sole for grip and agility. It’s a non-marking design, which we would expect with any specific court shoe. As with most on our list this shoe is designed for wearers with normal width feet; if you have narrow or wide feet, it’s recommended you talk to an expert for advice. These shoes are built with a special forefoot GEL® system that appears in the mid-sole. A positive of this feature is to move lightly and smoothly during gameplay. Also, the Trusstic System® technology is highly effective at maintaining the structural integrity of the sole. Asic’s makes these shoes with NC Rubber® which gives fantastic grip on the squash courts. While some athletic shoes will be able to support some of those goals, very few of them will have the same support as a shoe that is designed to meet the needs of a game of squash. Squash is a game where you will spend a lot of time running, stopping, and turning. You will need to be very agile and you need a shoe that supports that kind of movement. The reason I’m including them on this list is SO many pro players use them that it would feel almost weird not to mention these. Whether you’re looking for a lightweight pair to help you fly around the court, or a more protective, sturdy pair to help stay injury free, there’s a pair of shoes out there for everyone. A synthetic outer and man-made inner are the norm, and these shoes use TPU yarn which is designed for added strength and durability – while the gum rubber sole is a welcome one and is designed for grip. The Boost technology in the heel area of the midsole absorbs a great deal of impact, while providing ample rebound energy

I tested these out and I’m gonna be honest, these shoes hurt my feet after a while. The soles are not cushioned enough for my 40-plus-year-old feet. Another of the leading brands in sportswear and gear is Puma, which has been in the market for a long tie now. Known for quality products designed to last – and at decent prices – it is a brand that tries to cover all the bases, and these multisport shoes are a good example of their products. Your shoe needs to be able to cushion the impact and absorb any vibrations, as this is essential for protection the Achilles heel and other bones and muscles in the foot from damage. Depending on your weight and age, you may want shoes that come with additional cushioning, and it is worth talking to people who understand squash shoes for advice. Weight Squash can be a sport that is hard on the joints. Squash shoes are designed with this in mind. Since you are constantly moving and turning, shoes that support your joints are important. I’ve been using the Fastball 3 for years and overall have found them to have very good durability. They have a strong but lightweight plastic reinforcement around the toe to protect against wear from foot drag. There’s not too much visible stitching on the shoe — meaning there are fewer weak points for the shoes to come apart.

Finished in blue and white and a no-frills design that does everything you need, this pair of dedicated squash shoes comes with a synthetic breathable upper. On the inside portion of the sole, the Kobra 2 features a Rollbar that allows better push-off and prevents too much torsion. On the outer part of the sole, on the other hand, the shoe makes use of a Lateral Movement Stabiliser+ band, that won’t allow you to roll your ankles outwards, saving you from injury and time off the court. Here are some brands of squash shoes I’ve covered so far on Squash Source. Sometimes these brands make squash-specific shoes, and other times they make shoes for other indoor court sports like handball, volleyball or badminton that also can be used for squash. Performance shoes for intensity sports tend to last much less than your average pair of sneakers. However, the durability of your shoes will finally depend on the number of times per week you use them, as well as the intensity you use them with. Some users would think that squash is a game that could be played with a pair of normal sneakers. While you could potentially endure a match with running sneakers, it wouldn’t be optimal for your performance and it would possibly damage your shoes in the long run. The shoes promise excellent stability with their anti-torsion system ( Carbon Power), accentuated by Digitknittechnology

The Eye S.Line shoe was developed by leading sports scientists to combine a balanced cushioned gripping sole with a stable durable upper making it the perfect fit for the rigorous demands of the game. I’m possibly a bit of a purist but I don’t want to get dirt and other outdoor gunk on my squash shoes. If you find that like me you drag your toes, you may find a fairly short shelf life for these shoes. Given their relatively high price, switching to the S-Line shoes may prove costly over time. For people who do drag their toes, I would happily recommend Asics shoes such as the Gel-Tactic 2, which have a very durable front-foot.

Yes. Those are indoor court sports. Many of the bestselling squash shoes are aimed at those markets but will be non-marking and perfectly fine for squash. Can you use running shoes for squash? Whatever shoes you might buy, you’ll need to test them out for yourself. There’s no substitute for this. Shoes that work for my weird feet might not work for your weird feet.
