Description

People who want task automation services from their wireless router, through IFTTT (If This, Then That) That combination of strong performance and competitive price makes the Asus RT-AX59U a good all-around upgrade for anyone that’s still plodding away with an ageing Wi-Fi 5 router. There are two USB ports at the rear, too. One USB 2.0 and one faster USB 3.0. These can be used for sharing printers or storage, if needed.

To open the router, you need to remove the four screws from underneath the pads that cover the feet and then carefully detach the top cover (be aware that doing so could void the warranty). This way, you will be able to see the PCB which is covered by two separate large aluminum heatsinks – remove the screws to get them out of the way and you should get a view of the antenna connectors and a couple of metallic covers that can easily be removed to expose the first set of components. Ennél az eredménynél a 3x3-as, 5 GHz-es, 160 MHz-es és 1024QAM modulációval megvalósított 11ax kapcsolat sávszélességét hasonlítottuk össze a 3x3-as, 5 GHz-es, 80 MHz-es és 256QAM modulációval szolgáltatott 11ac kapcsolat sávszélességével. The range of controls and features on offer is impressive. Indeed, it’s exactly the same as you’ll find on Asus’ most expensive domestic routers. That means you get extensive traffic monitoring and management tools, a built-in firewall and Asus’ outstanding VPN support, which lets you route nominated devices through up to 16 different VPN gateways, as well as running an inbound VPN server to allow secure access to your own LAN.

If there’s one issue with Wi-Fi routers and mesh systems, it’s that they’re often big, ugly and hard to place. Patched several command injection vulnerabilities. Thanks to Jincheng Wang from X1cT34m Laboratory of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications The ARP response issue has been resolved, along with the connection issue between the router and the ROG Phone 6 and 7.

Dedicated gamers might prefer a more expensive tri-band router that would allow them to devote one of the frequency bands to their gaming rig. But the RT-AX59U will provide a good, affordable upgrade for web browsing, streaming video and other forms of online entertainment. Asus RT-AX59U: Price & availability Two things that I find comfort in the AX3000 router….. 1) AIMESH and 2)AIprotection. I placed those feature as important as the WIFI performance. Once the router was found, the app took me through configuring the wireless networks. The default option is to combine the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands together under one network name, letting the router guide devices as they connect. However, the network can also be split into 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks, which can be a good choice if you want to choose where devices will connect. The RT-AX59U introduces a novel upright tower design, with rounded ends and a corrugated exterior effect to add visual interest. It stands on a simple plastic base; if you prefer to attach it to a wall, you can easily unscrew this, and pop off two covers on the side to reveal a pair of mounting points. It’s nice to have these options, as you can start with a simple router and then can add range with a simple upgrade later on.

And, of course, the Wi-Fi 6 technology of the RT-AX58U provides impressive performance for your home wi-fi network. When used in the same room as our existing 802.11ac router, the RT-AX58U managed to squeeze a little extra speed out of our Internet connection, increasing Wi-Fi speeds from 55Mbps to 59Mbps. On the top of the Asus RT-AX58U, towards the front, there are eight LED indicators that show the status of the device (and the network): from the left, there’s the WAN LED followed by four LED, each corresponding to one LAN Ethernet port; the last three LEDs show the status of the 5GHz network, the 2.4GHz network (when the LED flashes, it means that the data is being transmitted) and the Power. Not so with the Asus RT-AX59U Extendable Router, which is smaller than most rivals and can even be wall mounted thanks to its clever stand. Design and features Note: The RT-AX58U is advertised as an AX3000-class router, so, it features a maximum theoretical data transfer rate of 574 Mbps on the 2.4GHz radio band and a maximum theoretical data transfer rate of 2,402 Mbps on the 5GHz radio. This means that at its 8.8 x 5.0 x 6.3 inches, the RT-AX58U (RT-AX3000) occupies far less space than the RT-AX88U, but, despite being smaller, it still has a larger footprint than the Asus RT-AC86U (or the RT-AC68U). Well, the latter does sit vertically, so it doesn’t require much space from your desk, but the RT-AX58U does has the advantage of being able to be mounted on the wall or the ceiling. That’s right, on the bottom of the device, there are two mounting holes, so you’re not forced to keep the router on the table and that’s very useful especially in an office. As for the USB ports, these can be used in several ways. If you attach an external storage device, you can share its files like a simple NAS, or use it as storage for FTP, iTunes or Apple Time Machine server duties. Alternatively, you can connect and share a USB printer – or, you can plug in a mobile broadband adapter, to provide internet access without a fixed line. The actual transfer speed of USB 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, and/or Type-C will vary depending on many factors including the processing speed of the host device, file attributes and other factors related to system configuration and your operating environment. The Asus RT-AX59U supports Wi-Fi 6, running a 2×2 2.4GHz network at speeds of up to 574Mbit/s and a 3×3 5GHz network, running at speeds of up to 3603Mbit/s. Before unboxing it, I expected the router to be large and imposing, but no, it’s actually a lot more compact than your regular routers which is interesting considering that it’s supposed to be far more powerful than the dual-band AC alternatives.
