Description

No filling or frosting is used inside the pandan cake, but it’s still very moist and delicious. The only downside is you might just end up eating all of it at once! Choosing the right cake pan

Pandan is a tropical plant with long narrow blade-like leaves that grow abundantly in Southeast and South Asia. Although it grows like a weed in the wild, it is also a farmed crop, producing a variety without any flowers. The characteristic aroma of pandan is caused by the aroma compound 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline, found in the lower epidermal papillae; [5] the compound gives white bread, jasmine rice, and basmati rice (as well as bread flowers Vallaris glabra) their typical smell. [6] Though the plant is unknown in the wild, it is widely cultivated. It is an upright, green plant with fan-shaped sprays of long, narrow, blade-like leaves and woody aerial roots. The plant is sterile, with flowers only growing very rarely, and is propagated by cuttings. Use gentle sweeping motions, folding the batter in on itself. The batter should be fully combined, but still airy and fluffy. Since this is a very fluffy pandan chiffon cake, the flavours are very delicate and light. Overall, it makes for a very beautiful and fresh cake that’s just the right amount of sweetness.

No overmixing – When mixing in the flour into the wet ingredients, only mix until the flour is fully incorporated. Do not overmix, as this can result in a dense cake. Apart from the pandan extract or paste, all ingredients are easy to find in most supermarkets. Here’s what’s needed for this recipe:
