Throwing Sam back in time offered the perfect excuse to make a seventies cop show in the 21st Century. Behind the Scenes of Episode 3 lasts 22 minutes and takes a look at the explosive pre-credits opening to the show, from concept to filming and postproduction, with interviews conducted on location with the cast and crew. Behind the Scenes of the CID set is just a short 3½ minute walkthrough narrated by episode director SJ Clarkson and producer Claire Parker. The titles are unique – a sort of tour of the police bullpen – if a bit annoying as you have to wait for the DVD to zoom down hallways to get to the next menu.

The plot is based on the ambiguity of Sam's predicament as neither the audience nor the character can be sure whether he has died, fallen into a coma, or legitimately travelled in time. Rex's "Get It On (Bang a Gong)", Bowie's "Starman", Cream's "White Room", The Moody Blues' "Go Now", and, from Elton John, "Rocket Man" and "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters. We will introduce you exclusively to Newpay finance products provided by NewDay Limited under this Introducer Appointed Representative arrangement. The BBC One series Life on Mars, which started a two-season run in 2006, comes with a great gimmick: A modern Manchester cop named Sam Tyler (John Simm) get slammed by a speeding car; when he wakes up, he finds himself in 1973, 30 years in the past. Matthew Graham stated that initially there were some concerns over whether the production team would be able to license the song, which, had they been denied, would have necessitated retitling the series.

John Yorke left Channel 4 to rejoin the BBC and, together with Julie Gardner, acted as joint commissioning editor on the show for its entire run. John Simm and Philip Glenister are superb but this series is not for anyone who is a strong believer in political correctness,as DCI Hunt (Philip Glenister)is a very non PC, PC. In the penultimate segment, Sam discovers that he has been sent to Manchester to bring down Gene Hunt--something Gene, of course, very nearly does himself.

And we get fish out water story mixed with 70's police work and a more personal story with the main character. Sam also encounters as their younger selves people whom he knows in the future, including suspects, friends, his own parents, and himself as a child. Suspects are regularly roughed up and, depending on their mood, witnesses are antagonized or buttered up. Although the discs are packed more tightly than most (there's close to four hours of video on Discs 2 and 4), the compression and low bit rates don't seem to affect the show's presentability. The doctor treating Sam in the future is the same as Frank Morgan, but Sam couldn't have seen him in the future since he's in a coma.
