If you want to get a taste of real potatoes in your dish, the Bob Evans’ Original Mashed Potatoes option might just be right up your alley. While it is indeed creamy and rich, thanks to the addition of cream alongside the milk, there is also a hint of tanginess to it. They come in both original and roasted garlic flavors, and they’re made with real potatoes, so they taste delicious. Cheese lovers can sprinkle shredded cheese on top during reheating for added creaminess and flavor. Samantha Very cheesy, not much rice compared with the rest of the ingredients and a really, really bad aftertaste. This isn't one for me or my schoolkids.

Before diving into the reheating process, make sure you have everything ready. Here’s what you’ll need: James I didn't have a problem with this. It had a nice flavour, though I wasn't sure the alcohol was properly cooked off. For me, this is pretty much how a risotto tastes. For larger pieces, defrost overnight in the fridge. Then finish cooking in boiling water until cooked through, drain and use.If reheating from frozen, pop the mash into a pan and reheat gently, until defrosted, then increase the heat and cook until piping hot, stirring as you go.

You can reduce the time it takes to make perfect mash even further by cooking your Aunt Bessie’s mashed potato in the microwave. Samantha Not at all bad, actually. There were too many onions, and they were really soft, watery and bland. But overall it wasn't a disaster. Probably the best of the bunch. Plus, they’re not salty at all, which is a huge plus in my book. Also, they’re certified gluten-free, which is great if you need to follow a gluten-free diet. This makes this dish seem brighter and lighter. The tanginess somehow manages to cut through the richness of the dish. What worries Sybil is that the ingredients for many of Delia's new dishes are "unhealthy, processed, environmentally unfriendly, high in fat, high in salt ... But worse, the recipes involve cooking skills without delivering a good product at the end. To get people to cook, it has to be a joy and a pleasure. I have no objection to semi-processed food, but the level of processing here ... I just don't get it. Delia is so good at doing simple, healthy food that's a real physical pleasure to prepare and a joy to eat ... "Ooh, it’s freezing in here, isn’t it? How are you doing, frozen sweetcorn? Aww, that’s sweet, thank you. What about you ice cream? Still screaming? Yes, it is strange that they’ve only eaten half of you and have now left you in here. Oh, and who’s that? Ah, yes, frozen sausages, that’s right. Is something different about you? Oh, you’re vegan now? Delicious. A bowl of mashed potatoes is perhaps one of the most comforting foods you can eat. This may be why these are staples during fall and winter holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. I like them because they have a very rich, buttery flavor that I remember from when I was little. I even added some cheese and garlic to spice it up without having to spend time cooking! This nostalgic favorite comes in both Classic and Garlic varieties, both of which are made with real potatoes and butter. I do hope you try my Easy Cheesy Cheat’s Cottage Pie as I think you’ll be impressed too! For more #PowerofFrozen ideas you might like to try these dishes:

Select “defrost” mode and set the timer according to the weight of your mashed potatoes. If unsure, start with 2 minutes. It’s also important to remember that all cooking appliances vary, and that the following recipe is a guideline to help you get the best out of Aunt Bessie’s products. How to cook mash potato on the hob Samantha, for her part, really doesn't get it. "She's not saving time, and she's not saving the environment," she concludes. "I don't know what she's trying to do, actually. It's weird. She was trying to wean us off convenience foods, promote healthy eating, now she's asking us to use them. What's that about? And I'm not sure where you'd get half these ingredients. I've never actually seen tinned lamb's mince. If someone really, really doesn't want to cook, I'm sure they'd be better off with a ready meal." Samantha These weren't bad. They were good and crispy on the outside, nice and soft on the inside. Certainly passable. If you’re looking for a mashed potato that tastes like it was made from scratch, the Hormel Homestyle Mashed Potatoes are a great option. Sybil This looked quite promising on first appearance, but it had the unpleasant aftertaste of tinned food. The aubergines were mushy and watery and the sauce had separated. Pretty horrible; like airline food. Heating it up is a breeze as well. All you have to do is nuke it in the microwave for four minutes, and you’re good to go. 2. Hormel Homestyle Mashed Potatoes
