As with our previous products, we tested this brick sealer on a brick wall with fairly modern, hard bricks and also on individual bricks. Wet walls cost more to heat up than dry walls, so if you have solid walls and they are subject to frequent wind-driven rain, you could make a small saving on your heating bill. The substrate must be dry prior to application, otherwise this will present a barrier to the Masonry Cream soaking into the surface.

Smartseal, in their documentation, states that the wall can be painted with some types of paint but not others, while one of their representatives gave me a straight “no” answer when we asked if the wall could be painted. Hard to give this masonry cream a 5 as its only been applied for a week, bought to seal a garage wall as I was getting water absorbtion through the bricks in driving rain, the product was easy to apply, gave good coverage, used an entire 5l tub for the job I needed, coverage is less than advised but I was putting it on thick to ensure good seal, will see how it performs over the winter.
