And if I, when I can afford yet another fragrance, do buy a bigger bottle ( I only have a 30 ml, with little left) I can allow myself to respray a bit during the day.

The fragrance is enclosed in a modern, delicately pleated bottle adorned with a hand-tied ribbon. It's beautiful as a gift any time of the year or a treat to yourself. As I get further along, this is light and still decent. It’s a rose and cedar freshness with a citrus zest. I don’t get much development beyond that, maybe some amber, but not to the point where it stands out on me. It fits very nicely into the Chloe line without becoming lost in the signature aesthetic of the house. The rose in the fragrances of Chloé is dosed for my feeling just right, because it is light, feminine and sensual and always gives its wearer a touch of cool romance.I love floral perfumes, and am making it my mission to discover my perfect rose scent. I want to smell like a big, dewy yellow rose opening on a warm day. Roses de Chloe is so far my favorite in this hunt, although not the perfect rose. I would not compare to Sisley Izia or Paul Smith Rose as Izia is much soapier, dryer and less sweet/soft and Paul Smith is much sharper and more tart. Izia is a very different kind of fragrance as Sisley has a very distinct sort of style and Paul Smith is a very linear sort of rose.

This perfume needs time to develop for the scent to show its velvety, yellow floral mimosa base. Mimosa is the star of the show in this one, so if you are expecting a heavy, intense rose you will be disappointed. Mimosa is powdery, soft, elegant, not something I experience in most modern perfumes I’ve sampled. I was very excited to try this and on first sniff I was somewhat disappointed as it smelled like something I already owned. Then I realised it was Montale Crystal Flowers! When you spray it, you get a burst of warmth: bergamot and citrus, with the roses peeking out shyly. It settles into a sunny green afternoon, as the rose opens fuller. You are in a freshly turned rose garden, with magnolia and orange trees also blooming. The drydown is a beautiful soft floral rose with a hint of citrus; a bouquet of new roses mixed with orange blossom and a bit of cedar. It's a lovely, innocent floral, able to be worn to work or an evening out, perfect for an afternoon wedding or picnic with a lover. It is classy and feminine. Freedom, lightness and femininity – these are the attributes that Chloé perfumes have stood for since their founding. The Chloé story starts in 1952 in Paris, where Gabrielle Aghion and Jacques Lenoir launched their own fashion collection. They were among the pioneers who relaxed the strict requirements of “haute couture” and provided customers with a more comfortable and easily understood “ready-to-wear” line. A fresh and feminine fragrance suited to a free spirit with an utterly innate sense of chic. The scent takes the classic rose and ingeniously translates it into a vibrant perfume, intimate and sensual. Chloé Eau de Parfum begins with a combination of floral powdery notes, hints of peony and lychee and springtime freesia. The airy, flirtatious head notes drift away to reveal the richer and more sensual side of the rose. The distinctive character of this unique rose is accompanied by magnolia and lily of the valley, as well as subtle intimations of warm amber and elegant cedarwood.

I was curious about the ingredient tangerine - but could only hear tangerine, which seems but fresh and unsour - and keeps the fragrance transparent.

Ever since 2018’s release of Chloe Nomade it seems like there is a new team overseeing the perfumes. They have stopped being minimal variations on rose. That history made me wonder if a perfume called Rose Tangerine was a return to that. The perfumers which had me hoping for more are Michel Almairac and Sidonie Lancesseur. What they produced was a variation on rose but something more substantial in keeping with the more recent releases. The first thing you get with Roses de Chloé is a noseful of the most beautiful red roses in full bloom. After 10 minutes, it becomes a trite red rose with maybe some red berries it it. While not being all bad, it reminds me of red gummi bears. I don't hate it, but it also does not excite me as well.Being someone that dislikes (some) synthetics, I am always quite happy to try natural perfume as no chance of encountering them. Not sure what 100% natural means here, but it did not scratch me in that way and it smells quite natural. Chloé is launching the Eau de Toilette edition of their Chloé Signature perfume called Chloé Rose Tangerine. Chloé Rose Tangerine is due out in summer 2020 and promises a bolder and more energetic character in the reinterpretation of the modern classic from the house. For those who wonder why there was no 10th door yesterday, the commentary on Miller Harris - Lumière Dorèe was already written, I just added the video. But now to today's 11th perfume advent calendar-door: The only downside with this: might be the shorter longevity. The projection and the sillage is weaker than the original, but that does not have to be a downside. You just choose the fragrances for different occasions.
