As much as I love cheese I don't think the grated cheddar adds much to the dish - the pudding is very well flavoured and if you use really good sausages it's just gilding the lily. To be honest, I am quite surprised by negative reviews and the reasons people put forward for causing their dissatisfaction with the recipes provided in this cookbook. I gave the veggies a 20 minute head start in the oven before adding the chicken thighs and they all finished at the same time.

The garlic was delicious, but a bit difficult to eat since it was unpeeled and scattered among the potatoes. I got Cumberland Sausages from our most excellent butcher, Dring’s (shoutout to the best butchers in London! After thirty minutes everything still seemed raw so I cranked up the heat to 450 and then cooked it for another forty minutes or so.It is accepted by you that Daunt Books has no control over additional charges in relation to customs clearance. The filling on its own was delicious, but in the squash, with the lashing of cream and the melted cheese, it made a lovely presentation. I've been wanting to try this since I got the book, but recent events have made it difficult to get ingredients. Not that I’m alone here: she holds, deservedly, a very special place in the hearts and the bookshelves of home cooks.

Even the boy enjoyed it, which is a huge deal as he had cross-country so was already not in the best of moods.

And, after reading her introduction I feel like this cookbook was really written over the past couple of decades, born from the Monday-to-Friday-get-a-meal-on-the-table situations that Henry experienced cooking for her own family. I suspect that perhaps it is meant to be added to the garlic oil paste that you rub under the skin, but maybe it was a mistake. Cooked in a 33cm shallow casserole for 50 mins or so, turning after 20 and another 20, taking the chicken pieces out the first time to give everything a good mix and drizzling the second time. There are many meat, chicken, and fish offerings and some vegetarian mains, and many vegetable side dishes and fruit heavy desserts. Whether you’re short of time or just prefer to keep things simple, From The Oven To The Table shows how the oven can do much of the work that goes into making great food.
