Description

Green Day's third studio album 'Dookie' was released in February 1994, and has since sold over 15 million copies worldwide, including 10 million in the US (RIAA Diamond certified). Either way I didn’t ever get around to nabbing Dookie so happy to have this pressing in the collection. I'm used to seeing heavier vinyl coming out of Pallas, but my version has the Pallas runouts so it seems it was pressed there. At the time of its release it literally clogged the airwaves and burgeoning media networks with its simplistic slabs of coherent, heavy metal-influenced rebellion. This iconic album, originally released in 1994, has earned its place in punk rock history, and this limited edition pressing adds a touch of uniqueness to my collection.

After Green Day was able to gain fame in the scene with their first two Albums, their third Album Dookie exploded onto the scene in 1994. There are some real classics on here such as "Longview" and "Welcome to Paradise" but really there isn't an album filler here.Green Day’s third studio album Dookie was released in February 1994, and has since sold over 15 million copies worldwide, including 10 million in the US (RIAA Diamond certified). Dookie was certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America for the shipment of 10 million copies. for me great sound stage minimum surface noise and while maybe it felt a little quieter than others the meters were peaking in all the right places.

or maybe a more fitting analogy would be a bottle of really strong hair gel because the punk energy on this album is still as spikey as ever! Dookie is the third studio album by American punk rock band Green Day, released on February 1, 1994, through Reprise Records. This may have heralded a new wave of punk/pop-rock upstarts to do their best at imitating Green Day, but it was a false revolt. Yes, it doesn't sound as good as the Chris Bellman Insomniac reissue, but Dookie has never sounded as good as Insomniac in the first place. I played them on a pioneer SX-780 with pioneer cassette deck CT-1170W and a generic Aiwa CD player in the mid 90's.

I did not have the debris issues others did, but I always clean my wax before playing it anyway, so it is not a big deal. So, raise a toast with a can of Red Bull and a knowing grin, because 30 years later, "Dookie" is still the life of the punk rock party!

The 4 CDs also feature 17 unreleased demos, 6 studio outtakes (3 unreleased), and a 17-track unreleased club show from Barcelona in 1994. Dookie itself sounds the same as it always has - quite a thin, one dimensional soundstage - but I’m presuming that’s exactly how they wanted it to remain, after painstakingly mixing it in the first place and not remastering for this release. As is customary with copies of this release, B8 is not listed on the back of the jacket, but does have a run-in groove.
