As a leading web development agency serving Staffordshire’s major towns – Stoke-on-Trent, Tamworth, Stafford, Burton-upon-Trent, and Cannock – we are genuinely passionate about all things digital. Brave Bear was also able to help restructure our social media presence helping us to focus on a specific audience with the right content helping to improve our online footfall. Taylor’s ( Hoot Owl, Master of Disguise) concise narration is resonant with developmental authenticity and psychological insight, with just enough repetition to lend a pleasing lilt; it’s the emotional heart of this story. The story follows a father and son bear duo who are hot - everything is hot and the story simply follows their day together. The perfect present for Daddy Bear and Baby Bears alike, all readers will rejoice in the gorgeous characterization, the warmth of the storytelling and the deliciously detailed artwork of illustration star, Emily Hughes.

Both children are happy to read it on successive evenings but there is no clamouring for instant re-reads. When he picks himself up and keeps going, his dad says, “I think a brave bear is probably the bravest thing in the world.I love the front cover with the use of quite warming colours and the pencil lines that portray the bears in a friendly, cuddly way, rather than grisly and scary as they are sometimes perceived in other children’s books. Since taking on advice from Brave Bear, which we have believed in, we have invested heavily into our marketing department by taking on a new staff member and equipping them with the correct tools to help push our business forward.

My 6yr old read this with ease, and said we'll save this when (our 3yr old niece) comes around mummy and I can read it to her. Whether it’s used for reading or listening, this glowing anecdote is sure to appeal to the overly ambitious Little Bear in each of us.Hughes’ detailed pencil illustrations show incredible texture, from the sweeping strokes of the bears’ fur to the gnarled trees and brushy forest. I really liked Emily Hughes' facings - the young bear is so cute with his 'almost curly' fur, the forest scenes with a red/orange sky quite beautiful. Written by the Brave Bear Trust and published in partnership with Invisible Traffick “Brave” is the first book focusing on the pressing challenge of modern slavery aimed at 8 – 10 years old, and it will allow both parents and teachers to discuss a very sensitive issue in a child-friendly way.

Inspired by true stories of a little girl who was rescued from exploitation with her teddy bear and a coffee roasting business that empowers survivors of exploitation. A small bear leads the way having suggested to dad that it would be a good idea to go to the river on a very hot day. I slowed down when I read it and focused on the relationship between the father and son and on their adventure. The characters may be bears, but the parent/child relationship depicted in this lovely picture book will be familiar to all readers.

The support and communication we have received from Jon, Luke and Andy at Brave Bear has been top-tier. When Dad Bear says, I think a pair of hot bears is probably the hottest thing in the world, Little Bear suggests that they go all the way to the river to cool down. With thanks to Helen at Walker Books who provided me with the sample book in exchange for my honest review.
