Designed and maintained by devoted anime fans, Anime UK News and it’s fledgling forum community is growing with each passing month, proving we are an ambitious and trusted resource for UK-based anime fans and beyond! One of my favorite shows of the fall 2023 season was the animated adaptation of INORI's light novel series, the latest in a string of isekai anime revolving around the concept of video game "villainess" characters redeeming themselves. Manga-ka Syundei doesn’t 100% rule out the possibility of a sequel but at the moment Go for it, Nakamura! Maybe you were never like Nakamura -- a closeted, socially inept gay teenager who finds it easier to talk to his pet octopus than to other people -- but it's easy to sympathize with him, seeing him obsessed with a cute boy in his class.

although, he says he's just inspired, the constant gazes and blushing that happen are a little unnecessary in my opinion? I needed something quick and cute today to treat myself after doing chores and this was a great pick. Frieren is still going strong continuing from last season, but The Dangers in My Heart is the one stealing the spotlight! I know that some people can just brush that off as "awww teacher crush so cute" and "that's just how BL is", but I can't, and I at least want to warn people about it before they run straight into it - because I wished someone had at least warned me about it.One comment Syundei makes about Chapter 4: ‘This story came about because I was thinking “How can I sneak girl characters into a Boy’s Love manga?

A Day in the Limelight: Chapter 5 is told from Kawamura's perspective and mostly serves to develop her and her friends. No se siente el mismo encanto que en el primer volumen 🤨 pero aún así, esto sigue siendo re tierno, más intento de comedia que el volumen anterior pero pues esta bien u. Nope, instead the power-dynamics aren't really skewed in anyone favor and the relationship actually develops slowly over time. This straight-to-the-point and adorable tale succeeded on making me aww so loud in the middle of the night–if it's not enough proof that this one is cute then I don't know what is.

The series was praised for its 1980s-reminiscent artwork, with Sean Gaffney of Manga Bookshelf favorably comparing it to Ranma ½ and Kimagure Orange Road. My only real complaint, besides a small quibble that the pacing takes a little time to find its footing (and learning that this story was infrequently serialized over the course of two years explains that) is that it’s over! Ill-starred Nakamura’s story builds satisfyingly from short chapters at the start to longer, more developed episodes as he gets to know the other people in his class and his dynamic young teacher Otogiri-sensei better. He has a crush on his classmate Aiki Hirose, but is acutely introverted and has never spoken to him. Nakamura looks like a lot of other protagonists in Syundei works which doesn't really mean much, just a thought. Nakamura has fallen in love-at-first-sight with one of his classmates, Hirose–but there’s a problem: they haven’t actually met yet…and Nakamura is a total klutz who might bungle things before they even begin! In the Afterword, Syundei treats us to a brief but insightful breakdown of each chapter and the history of this collection ( Nakamura began online in 2014, then was published by the enterprising BL magazine OPERA). But after admiring his crush from afar for a year, Nakamura decides he wants more and attempts to befriend Hirose.

Class Trip: The first volume culminates in one to Yokohama, during which Nakamura endeavors to finally befriend Hirose. At the end of the chapter, it's revealed that the gym clothes actually belonged to another, less attractive student at the school. But Nakamura’s life is rather silly and it seems like something always comes up at exactly the wrong time!It gave me a nostalgic feel to it–like I was teleported back to 80s or 90s–which is very delighting touch if I say so myself. The story is about a shy gay boy who fell in love at first sight with his classmate when he entered high school.
