Description

Emily is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). She is an active member of a picture book critique group and a middle grade one. This beautifully written and illustrated book serves the dual purpose of explaining echos and dealing with being shy. It will make a great bedtime story. Highly recommended! This is a nice story about coming into yourself and being resilient. The friendship that develops between Little Echo and Max is very sweet and a great example for kids. This is also full of wonderfully expressive language to help build vocabularies and storytelling skills. The art is lively and detailed and complements the story nicely. This would be a good circle time read for pre-K and early elementary.

A genuinely charming story of a little boy playing in a cave, and the small echo who wanted to play too--instead of just echoing. Little Echo wants to talk, wants to go on adventures, and wants to be included, but she's too shy to do anything but echo. Finding her own words will be hard, but it could be worth being brave for. Let's talk about how vivid and wonderful the illustrations are. They are so cute and colorful that they will catch one's eye. It also introduces children to what an echo is and how it works. in a wonderfully imaginative way. Puffin has acquired the debut picture book from author-illustrator Al Rodin after a hotly-contested seven-way auction. Now that I have my very own copy, I’m so excited to be able to share my thoughts about it with the world. Because it is just delightful! I truly think this is such a special book. Al’s illustrations are so bold and expressive. They have such a timeless feel to them.

What a cute book that sets about to explain to small children what is an echo and how it works. Now obviously there is no such thing as a Little Echo, but to small children it is a super cute way to introduce them to echoes and when they get older they will learn what really causes those repeated sounds, but for now this is charming. Interesting way to show little kids how echoes work. And a good way to talk about gaining confidence and making friends. The illustrations were interesting (the cross section of the caves was my favourite!) Emily lives in the Garden of England, Kent, with her daughter and husband. She is never seen without a cup of tea. Emily Ann Davison is a mother by day and a children’s writer by night. Having spent many years working with children, she discovered a love of picture books and began writing her own. I like the way Max and Little Echo accept each other and work together--as any good adventure team would. The maze of tunnels is especially fun to follow and identify critters and what some are doing.

Little Echo is award-winning illustrator Al Rodin’s debut book. It’s a precious story about companionship and overcoming fears. It’s also a tale of hope and will. The characters are adorable, and the illustrations are spectacular.Little Echo is a darling tale of an Echo creature who is too nervous to echo and the boy they befriend. It is a story about believing in your talents and helping a friend. It would be a nice addition to a school or home library.

This is a cute story about building friendship - it tells about little Echo who is too shy to use her own voice, so she just echoes other animals and visitors to herh home (a cave). One day, to save a little boy named Max, she has to use a word of her own! It is such a delightful read and would make a good bedtime story. It teaches one to find that own courage to be themselves especially with the right friends. I love how Echo is represented as a mouse who finds its courage to voice its big thoughts. The illustrations are in a unique and interesting to look at. I love the underground cross section that shows you the caves and tunnels, you see bats hanging upside down reading, bees enjoying a glass of something, and in my favourite cave, some fox-like creatures are sprawled on the floor doing some drawing! Thank you so much, to the publisher and NetGalley for the free preview copy of this ebook; the review is voluntary--and enthusiastic!

I rarely read children's novels but the illustration and the title caught my eye that I just had to request for it! So glad I got a chance to read it. As they explore the cave together (looking for treasure of course) Echo learns to listen and speak to build a friendship for the first time! Little Echo by Al Rodin is beautifully illustrated. I loved this story! It is a great little story about finding the courage to speak up. It is also about friendship. Rodin, who studied children's book illustration at the Cambridge School of Art and featured in the Illustrator's Exhibition at Bologna in 2019,said:"I'm so delighted to be working with Andrea, Clare and the magical team at Puffin. Puffin books have given me such joy throughout my life and it feels very special to now be working together on making stories. I'm immensely grateful to the Puffin team for their incredible support and encouragement and I can't wait to introduce everyone to Little Echo!"
