This is a stunning book, the magic is all in the words as Big reassures Small that she will always love him no matter what. I also really like the idea that the two characters are merely a small character and a larger one, the relationship could be any number of things, small and their: mother, father, older sibling, cousin, grandparent, friend or foster parent/ carer. Go, go, pirate boat, Across the salty sea, Raise the anchor, hoist the sail, It's a pirate's life for me.
