The paving must be absolutely saturated before starting and remain soaked throughout the application process ‘the wetter, the better.’ We strongly recommend not shortcutting this process, particularly when working with absorbent or sensitive materials such as Sandstone, Granite and Limestone. Freezing conditions are not always problematic for EASYJoint, however the volume of water used during the application process can potentially freeze. In this instance the particles within the grout mix won’t settle into the joints evenly due to the presence of ice and potentially lead to longer term problems. The use of water to wash and fill the joints between the paving is a breakthrough in jointing methodology. It assists the paving grout to compact into the joints so there is no need to ‘strike’ or ‘tool’ the joints unless you want a smooth finish. Overall EASYJoint seems like a good option. It works exactly like it says on the tin and with proper application, there is very little that can go wrong. However, there does seem to be a small issue with production where around 10-20% of the tubs have already set before being opened.
