Description

If you are limited on space, or simply do not want the clutter of a massive desktop gaming PC then a gaming mini PC is the easy choice! With all the power and performance in a case not much larger than a box of teabags, you can enjoy the latest AAA Windows games. Some models can even support more via additional HDMI/DisplayPort interfaces. Or even USB-C interfaces. Like the Beelink GT-R which can support up to four displays simultaneously. Network Connectivity

How about screens? The HX90, despite its small size, comes as equipped as a full office computer . Capable of supporting up to four monitors simultaneously at up to 4K@60Hz (2x DisplayPort, 2x HDMI 2.0). Game, chat, binge and surf all at once with the HX90. The Mini PC for content creation supports dual displays up to 4K 60Hz with its two HDMI ports or a single 8K 60Hz display with the USB 4 Type-C port. It also features USB 3.2 generation 2 ports for peripheral connectivity and the option to connect an external GPU (eGPU) for enhanced graphics performance. Ports and connectivity are another area where we look at what's on offer - and how it compares with rival devices. Not everyone will need Thunderbolt 4, but we expect to see adequate slots on a mini PC to increase functionality and flexibility. With so many brands simply turning out NUC clones, the Khadas Mind machine is a radical departure but not a cheap option. The processor platform is the same as Intel put in the NUC 13 Pro, providing this system with good performance for a machine with a mobile CPU and integrated GPU. There are ample options for upgrades on the Chuwi RZBox as well. The device comes equipped with two DDR4 SO-DIMM memory ports that support up to 64GB of DDR4-3200 memory. On the storage end, you have two M.2 2280 slots to accommodate PCIe NVMe SSDs, which are limited to PCIe 3.0 speeds, of course.

The intricacies (read: mess) of the USB naming schemes and generations is too much to get into here. So we’ll just leave it at the following: Need more storage? Have no fear, as the HX90 also supports not one, but TWO 2.5 inch HDDs/SSDs of your choice with its built-in SATA III drive bays. There are many models to choose from and we have a guide on the best Ryzen Mini PC which suggests some different models based on different requirements. We have already mentioned our favourite model, but maybe another will be more suitable for your needs. Most mini PCs you’ll find on the market will not feature a discrete graphics card. Barring exceptions such as the DroiX Stheno series. For smooth performance. a good CPU, GPU, and RAM are essential. We've included a selection of AMD- and Intel-powered thin clients here, all capable of delivering speed and performance for a range of uses.

Each piece of hardware has passed a strict quality inspection and met the factory's standards before it is delivered to Minisforum. In addition, there is no difference in the warranty policies of these hardware suppliers. There’s USB-C, which is most often seen at the end of charging cables for modern mobile phones. It facilitates high speed, flexible connection types, with some USB-C ports even being capable of video output. In 3DMark Wild Life, the graphics score reached a commendable 15500, showing the machine's graphics abilities. This result indicates its capability to handle graphically demanding tasks, making it suitable for gaming and multimedia. The AMD Radeon RX 6600M GPU with 8GB of dedicated GDDR6 memory ensures stunning visuals and smooth gameplay. The HX99G Mini PC with AMD Ryzen processor supports up to 64GB of DDR5 dual-channel memory for lightning-fast data access and seamless multitasking. Storage options include an M.2 2280 PCIe4.0 SSD slot and an M.2 2280 SSD slot, providing flexibility and expandability for your storage needs. Like a traditional desktop computer, a mini PC is best when used in spaces with easy access to monitors (or TV), keyboards, and other peripherals on hand. For this reason, mini PCs are great for office use, allowing multiple users to access the device in a variety of locations.

The MinisForum UM690 is a high-performance Ryzen mini PC that offers excellent processing power and graphics performance for demanding home or office workloads. It is powered by the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor, though with the integrated AMD Radeon 680M GPU instead of a dedicated GPU card. It still delivers exceptional high performance. However, it has USB 4.0, and the two 2280 M.2 NVMe slots are both Gen 4, allowing for plenty of performance storage to be added alongside a 2.5-inch SATA mechanism. Sadly, Geekom supplies the machine with only a Gen 3 NVMe drive, but swapping it for something faster is a relatively inexpensive and straightforward exercise. If a mini PC is best, consider how you'll be using your machine. In addition to general computer usage, Mini PCs have been used as media servers, games emulators, and much more. This gaming mini PC ’s performance is further bolstered by the respectable dual-channel SO-DIMM DDR4 RAM running at speeds of up to 3200mHz. There is also an M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD to provide lightning-fast loading speeds for all your apps and games.Cost is also a factor, as mini PCs tend to be cheaper than laptops - particularly high-spec or business laptops. How to choose the best mini PC for you The AMD Ryzen 7000 series processor in this tiny computer has eight cores and can process sixteen threads, making it one of the most powerful small system platforms. Combined with 32GB of DDR5-4800, a Gen 4 NVMe drive and a chipset that includes Thunderbolt, a 2.5GbE LAN port and Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX2111, expect a very positive user experience. AMD in particular have exceptional performance for their intergrated graphics thanks to their “APU” architecture, which is just a fancy way of describing GPU and CPU technologies being designed in tandem on one chip, rather than the integrated graphics just being a component you “fit” into the CPU. Ryzen Mini PC USB Inputs and Connections The fact of the matter is, most mini PCs aren’t explicitly designed to work with any kind of Linux distribution. This does not meant that they won’t work outright. It just means that there’s no guarantee it will work without any issues on your chosen distribution. The AceMagician AM08 Pro AMD Ryzen 9 is a great option for gamers and users doing more intensive day-to-day tasks such as video editing who are looking for a quirky yet efficient mini PC. Its gaming aesthetics, including LED lights and an upright stance, immerse you in the gaming culture. The machine's expandability is well thought through, allowing easy memory and storage upgrades for future-proofing.

What could have been better was the USB ports that are all blue in colour, though one is a USB 2.0, and both USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports are on the front and both Type-A ports. That the only USB-C port is Gen 1 was a definite oversight. Over the years as technology has progressed, we no longer need to have desktop PC’s for gaming. Gaming laptops have been around for some time already and now that technology has been introduced to mini PC’s. A gaming mini computer takes up very little space making it ideal to play on the living room TV for example. CrystalDiskMark demonstrated impressive read and write speeds, with a read speed of 2800.72 MB/s and a write speed of 2423.33 MB/s. These speeds are again mid-range, fast but by means the fastest for this size and price of the machine. The problem it faces is that it’s competing with systems that use either more recent Ryzen designs or the latest Intel 13th gen processors that use DDR5 memory. The DRR4 RAM in this design comes in copious amounts, but the bandwidth on offer is the Achilles heel of this platform, as it reduces the performance of the integrated Radeon RX Vega GPU. When choosing which mini PC is best for you, there are several factors to consider - but first, it's important to be sure a mini PC is right for your needs.
