You’d think that guys are smart enough not to turn the heat up too high when working on their beards, but many of us aren’t. The heat limits on the Aberlite are a great safety feature on an already very good product. Turn your beard straightener on, selecting your chosen heat setting. Let it come to full heat – this can take between 30 seconds and a couple of minutes. Method 1 (the most efficient): Use an Aberlite cleaning brush and Aberlite cleaner. Simply spray the cleaner onto the bristles and brush away any residue. After cleaning, wait for 10 minutes before powering it on again. Yes, you can definitely use a blow dryer and a round brush to straighten your beard and achieve the same neat results, and you don't have to use a beard straightener. However, there are several differences between a blow dryer and a heated brush when it comes to straightening beards: The MIRUOC is a straightforward, cheaply-made, single-temperature heated comb, but it will straighten most beard hair for a very low price.

But don’t go burning your mug on your girlfriend's flat iron—you're going to want a specialized tool. Beard straighteners are essentially combs that pump hot air through your whiskers, and they're great at what they do. How to Use a Beard Straightener You’ll need a couple months’ growth to achieve any results. Exceptions can be made to especially prodigious facial hair growers, but these combs and brushes need to have hair that’s long enough to comb and brush, or else they can’t do their job. After trying both brushes, we’d recommend the Pro over the Go, especially if you plan on using a beard straightener frequently. The wider temperature range will allow you to use the brush more frequently with less risk of damaging your hair. A lot of guys, even those who’ve had beards for a long time, might not know about something called beard straighteners. Basically, there have been tools available for a while that can help control unruly beards. For example, some women use a flat iron or straightening tool to tame their hair, and it can work on certain beards too.The Iston Beard Straightener will make even a coarse beard smooth and silky. It is designed to prevent damage to your facial hair by sealing the hair cuticle, which prevents split ends. Using ceramic technology, it heats up fast. Plus, the straightener also has ionic conditioning and an anti-static coating to make frizzy beard hair a thing of the past. The temperature is adjustable to suit all hair types, and the design is wider than most beard straighteners, which reduces the time it takes to smooth out your beard. If that curly beard is truly the look you want, at the very least you’ll need to apply beard oil and groom it daily with a beard comb (preferably one with wide teeth) and a beard brush with boar-hair bristles.

The Kuschelbär can be used with either 110 or 220 volts so it’s perfect for travel – but most importantly, this is definitely the best heated beard straightener brush for use either at home or on the road. We tested out the Aberlite Pro and Aberlite Go—two of the most popular beard straightening brushes on the market. Below is a breakdown of how they compare: Meet the AmoVee Mini, which is less than eight inches in length and has a heated section that’s just about ½ inch wide.

THE ABERLITE GO

You’ll have to start slowly and get used to the Andis Press Comb, but it’s an effective tool once you’ve mastered it. Not all beard straighteners are created equal. That's why we reached out to KJ Hughes, owner of Washington D.C.-based barbershop Manifest, on what specs to look for. Forher’s beard straightening brush has all the features you’d want, but is only suitable for longer beards.

Finally, we went beyond pure performance and looked at things like ergonomics, ease of use, and portability. After all, what’s the point of buying something that works great, but is so bulky it doesn’t fit in your bag? Why bother spending money on a beard straightener that’s so heavy to use that taming your beard becomes part of your workout regimen? No one needs that kind of problem. Heated Brushes – Heated brushes do just what it sounds like; they use an internal heating element to heat the bristles, allowing you to straighten your beard without blowing hot air into it. Again, you’ll find flat, round, and other shapes in this category. Both the Aberlite Pro and Aberlite Go have merit, and which one you go with is ultimately going to come down to how frequently you intend to use a beard straightening comb. THE ABERLITE PRO VS. THE ABERLITE GO

Overall, the brush is about 8 inches in length, including the handle, with a brush head area that is close to 3 and a half inches. ABERLITE PRO TEMPERATURE SETTINGS And after testing both the Aberlite Pro and Aberlite Go, you probably don’t need to use the highest heat settings. If you use your straightener consistently, it's best to clean it every day few days to keep it in tip top shape. Hughes recommends to clean it over a towel, or even outside. "Think of it as cleaning rugs," he says. "Your beard traps debris and oils, so when you straight it, that will catch and build up." The 79” cord is more than adequate to use in almost any setting. I plugged it into a wall outlet close to a foot off the ground and had no issue using the Aberlite Pro while standing up (note: I’m 6’0” tall and there was plenty of room to spare).
