The earcups and foldable headband are made from sheepskin leather, which unfortunately means these headphones are unsuitable for those who avoid using animal products; if this isn’t a problem for you, you’ll find that these earcups feel extremely soft and comfortable to wear for long periods. An equalizer within the app means that you can adjust the sound settings, whether you favor a bassier mix or the more natural sound of treble-heavy audio. It’s a nice touch for those who want the ability to truly customize their headphones, but we found that the default EQ setting was the best option for us. With signature Sennheiser sound, wireless comfort and class-leading battery life, the Sennheiser ACCENTUM are your long-lasting music companion. The Sennheiser HD 450BTs aren’t the best sounding noise-cancelling headphones out there for the money. Nor are they the easiest to control on your head. Prices valid in stores (all including VAT) until close of business on 2nd November 2023. (Some of these web prices are cheaper than in-store, so please mention that you've seen these offers online.)

Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless review | TechRadar Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless review | TechRadar

At first glance, the Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless’ 17-hour battery life sounds rather good, but compare it to the 30 hours offered by Sony's WH-1000XM3 noise-cancelling headphones, and it doesn't seem quite so impressive – especially when you’re paying more for the Sennheiser model. Perhaps the most striking design feature of these noise-canceling headphones is their adjustable headband, crafted from pearl-blasted stainless steel sliders that are held in place by a shiny logo-adorned button. As a result, there are some visible cables linking the earcups to the headband, which means they don’t have the fluid form factor of the Bose Headphones 700–that’s all a matter of taste, though.

On the latter, you can drag a pointer around an equalisation map to adjust the balance towards more bass or treble. There’s no harm in favouring either to get a bit more low-end domination or top-end sparkle although, predictably, going extreme either way makes them pretty unlistenable. Bluetooth is complete with aptX Low Latency support for syncing up audio and video (with less than 40 milliseconds of latency) when you’re watching a video or playing a game on your connected device. We tested this feature by selecting ‘Find my Tile’ in the app; once we did this, the headphones started vibrating and ringing, getting louder as time went on – all in all, it worked really well. Battery life is also significantly lower than the original Momentum 3 Wireless headphones, which offered a far more palatable 22 hours of battery life. Still, it should be enough to get you through a week’s worth of commuting.

The accompanying vocal and trebly synths, which sit just on the peripherary of the Sennheiser’s centre-stage spotlight, carry decent detail and as much impetus too. By comparison, though, the AKGs and similarly priced Philips PH805s do greater justice to the production by surfacing greater texture and dynamic variation. VerdictThere’s also an Anti-Pressure mode that reduces the discomfort sometimes associated with noise-canceling headphones – it’s a subtle difference, but if you suffer from the uncomfortable feeling of pressure on your ears, you’ll likely find this feature very useful indeed.

The Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless certainly stand out from the headphones crowd, with sleek, minimalist housings and metallic hardware. Their tonality is a little skewed towards the bottom end, sacrificing the midrange clarity that more neutral rivals, such as the AKG N60NCs, are capable of. That may not play into the hands of every music fan, but those who like electric guitars to sound weighty and basslines beefy will find favour in the Sennheiser’s modest bias. It’s a useful feature, and one that works pretty well – too well, in fact. Sometimes just slightly adjusting the headphones or moving our head was enough to abruptly stop our music. Ergonomically designed and lightweight, the ACCENTUM headphones offer long-lasting comfort, too. With its softly padded earpads and headband, they remain comfortable even after hours of use.

Overall, the wide soundstage and detailed sound provided by the Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless headphone makes them very adept at voicing your music, no matter how complex. Sennheiser are one of the world’s leading headphone manufacturers, making it little wonder that the ACCENTUM headphones sound so impressive. Using in-house speaker drivers, Sennheiser are able to tune the sound to its precise specifications. The 37mm drivers deliver a strong bass and smooth balance that suits a wide variety of music genres. The Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless headphones support Bluetooth 5.0 and codecs like aptX, AAC, and SBC, as well as aptX Low Latency – this means you shouldn't experience connection dropouts or any annoying lag when watching videos with these headphones.
