We are heading into Spring in the northern hemisphere (although I am in Australia and it’s Autumn!). But I lived in the Unite States for many years, so I can totally tune into the feeling of spring. To help remember the steps, Tim suggests an acronym DiSSS (ignore the “i”): Deconstruct, Select, Sequence, Stakes. You might be thinking, “where do I start?” But don’t worry! We’ll walk you through the process of how to make your very own Kawaii drawings – and it’s actually really simple. You’ll learn about simple shapes and produce adorable heads and facial features as well as proportionately sized bodies with our step-by-step lessons. Drawing is fun, easy, and can be surprisingly creative.

Kawaii drawings can be created by anyone, and doodling allows so much flexibility. You don’t need any special tools or expensive equipment to start, but it’s best to have a sketchpad or drawing book ready to keep your drawings organized. Kawaii drawings are cute and fun to look which can instantly improve mood. Kawaii is good for your health. There are many inspirations around that can help you make your own kawaii character. These are kawaii versions of non-kawaii figures. They are usually cheerful-looking creatures with large eyes and small noses, making them attractive. Even though kawaii characters all follow very similar features, their visual structure can vary a lot since there are tons of other kawaii characters that aren’t based on real animals but more on abstract concepts like rainbows or stars so on. Kawaii doodles are becoming popular nowadays. Kids and even adults usually just draw their own doodles to express themselves with kawaii drawing. This book features how-to’s and tips which allow you to improve your kawaii style of drawing. The illustrations are lovely, making them ideal for beginners! These two adorable friends are the perfect companions to curl up with for an afternoon nap. You’ll definitely enjoy drawing this sleeping cat and dog. 8. The drawing prompt for this week is FLOWER.Here is cute watercolor flower with a touch of kawaii. I created this drawing with a combination of watercolor pencils, paints, and felt-tip pen outlines. Do you wish you could draw like this? Do you wantto be able to produce kawaii drawings anytime, anywhere, and on any subject? Yes, me too! You’ll start by drawing a square. There are a couple of options for the exact scale you use. First, you’ll see the 50/50 split, where the head and the body are the same height as each other. The other is the 60/40 split, where the head is even larger and the body is tiny. Ilaria notes this second style is popular in animal illustrations.

Here is my cute butterfly drawing with green overtones. I wanted to use an unconventional color for this cutie to challenge myself and bring spring freshness to the drawing. Oh, and did I mention that “sage green” is the hottest color trend right now? 😉 This week’s drawing prompt is BEVERAGE. I couldn’t decide between tea and coffee, haha. So I went with my daughter’s favorite beverage – strawberry milk. You can’t go wrong with pink and Japanese kawaii aesthetic!!! 😀 Kawaii drawing is easy. If you’ve ever tried to draw a kitty or a pony, kawaii drawing will be as simple as child’s play.Who doesn’t love a friendly pup? This drawing of a friendly dog is perfect for all skill sets. The methodis to break down skill into the smallest learnable units. Then select and practice the units that have the biggest effect on the desired outcome (in this case, ability to draw kawaii). For a great handmade gift, include this quote beneath your drawing, “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain.” -Vivian Greene. 31. There’s no denying that it’s hard to resist the allure of these cute, adorable characters! Although some may think that drawing Kawaii is too difficult for them to do on their own, it’s actually one of the easiest ways to begin learning how to draw. I am giving myself approximately 6 months to practice. To simplify things I am assuming 4 weeks in each month. I know it’s more, but I am creating a schedule that will go over 6 months x 4 weeks = 24 weeks. Pen skills (Months 1 – 3) Month 1 To create a kawaii drawing, start by thinking of your favorite kawaii thing as your subject. There is no limit to the possible subjects you can draw, but a few of our favorite ones are daily items such as food, animals, and objects.

If you’re a gamer, you must try drawing your own kawaii game controller. This controller is modeled after the Xbox controller, but you can change yours to a Playstation or Nintendo Switch controller. 19. Hamster Pancakes Credit: @lilypawstudio | Ko-fi Let’s draw a cute POPSICLE! I used watercolor wash to create this cutie. I really love how the colors mix and run on wet paper and “do their own thing”. 🙂 No two popsicles come out the same! When it comes to drawing faces, you'll use two dots for the eyes and a semicircle for the mouth, all of which lie roughly at the same level on the face. Ability to draw many things from memory is something that happens over time. I am putting this skill as a future project. Sequence
