OW drama - the H isn’t quite ready to commit to the h at first and he’s up front about that. The h sees him with a couple different women. It’s unclear if he has relations with them. But once he commits, and he does pretty early, he’s all in. She does find him with a naked woman after a bachelor party, before they’ve committed, but after they’re pretty emotionally and physically invested, and he swears he didn’t have sex with her. He claims that the night proved to him that he could be monogamous and he commits to the h from that point on… the h is on the fence about whether or not she believes him, but decides what matters is what he does from that point on. 😬🤷🏼‍♀️

This group is a safe environment, where readers c Welcome to Some Like It Hot!, a group for those of us who love to read and write romantic fiction. Bottom Line? Overall, I really liked it. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Max was my flavor of j/p hot, Cassidy was my flavor of sweet. The story was solid. I plan to read the next book. But the unnecessary prison story line and the need for an editor to remove the excess put this at 3.5 stars for me. 😅 Only Nicci Harris could have me rolling in tears from laughter one minute and then pulling my hair out the next. ""Our Thing"" went from zero to call the fire brigade hot, insanely fast and I loved all the twists and turns and surprises. The premise of one simple act causing a chain reaction of chaos was sheer brilliance."" Jessica from Jessica Reads It. Those words are dangerous. Just about as dangerous as the world I was born into. As dangerous as the ruthless bastards that I call family.

This one was slightly darker than its predecessor and I really got a feel into just what Max’s life entails working in the district. We also get some questions finally answered some I guessed others I didn’t. We still don’t know everything but a picture has now started to form that is becoming clearer book by book.

The end of this book made it for me. Ugh. It was so good. I cried. CRIED. THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE LAST 20% I am just not a big fan of reading about my H's previous sexual and romantic endeavours. It doesn't really suit with me. I have so many words to say about this book but I find it hard to express how amazing it is. I won’t be giving any spoilers in this review because you just need to read it to believe it. I think I cried through the last 5 or so chapters. And I’m not a huge crier at all. I felt like the author completely tore me apart with her words. She made me feel like I was right their with them through this journey. I cried and laughed with them, I felt their sadness and pain. You will go through it all with them. I was so sad at the end, not because the book made me sad but because I could have read their story for days. I’m glad this isn’t the end of this series and we get Bronson’s story next. Just keeping my fingers crossed we don’t have to wait too long. But he finds me infuriating. A silly little girl. He wants to keep me out of his business and away from him and other men. He wants to protect my body - protect my innocence.Nikki told us this was🥵Age-gap taboo, we have our 😇Sweet heroine Fawn and our 😈Mafia Don Clay Butcher, there is unlimited 🔥Steam, 😇 Praise kink, 😈You are my property vibes and finally romance. Don't be fooled though this is dark (please heed the trigger warnings) and it wouldn't be mafia without 🩸Gore and violence. I wish threre was an extended epilogue though. A look into the life that Max & Cassidy built for Kelly and hopefully more babies. This is the conclusion to Max and Cassidy’s story here we get to deal with the emotional aftermath of the fallout from book one and both Cassidy and Max are struggling. Cassidy because of what happened and Max because of his failure to keep her safe and the repercussions of all that. His world is going to intoxicate her. The dangerous men that he calls family will want to use her, tutu and all. The heroine, Fern is 18, grew up in the foster system, and she goes to Clay’s house for help with her pregnancy situation, since she thinks her long lost dad is there. He’s not, and little does Fern know that Clay is pretending to be generous and have her stay with him while he “looks for” her dad, but he’s REALLY planning to use her and her unborn son to lure out her dad to kill him. (The reason relates to events from earlier books…so this would be confusing if you read it as a standalone!)

I was sad about how the book ended and he did not learn about what happened after, but that means there could be another book which I am hoping. I believe this book definitely is for mature readers and can be a standalone book like stated, but also makes me want to read the others to understand the story better. I loved how the author gave very descriptive details on what happened at times. It caused me to be able to visualize what was happening in that exact moment. I will also admit this was a book I was able to sit and read all day due to being so absorbed into it. The story starts off with Cassidy finishing a dance tour and heading home to her 18th birthday party with her gay best friend Toni. There she meets the tall, sexy, intimidating Max. Growing up as a Butcher boy, he is no stranger to violence but he struggles to find his place in the Empire of Corruption. During your commute: If you take public transportation or have a long commute, you may find it helpful to use that time to read. The characters in "Our Thing" are charismatic with bold personalities that tug at your heartstrings. I quite enjoyed the contrast between Cassidy, the district's sweetheart, and the total alpha male vibe from the district's most notorious bad boy Max Butcher. "Our Thing" is good girl meets bad boy, District style and I loved every minute of it.Georgia’s portrayal of Cassidy was kind, pure, driven and determined to get her man and I fell hard for her sweet and gentle disposition. Only Nicci Harris could have me rolling in tears from laughter one minute and then pulling my hair out the next. "Our Thing" went from zero to call the fire brigade hot, insanely fast and I loved all the twists and turns and surprises. The premise of one simple act causing a chain reaction of chaos was sheer brilliance. I thought the mafia business was just enough - not so much that in took over, but enough to make it believable Chapter 10 ~ "I love you Max Butcher," I whisper. "I don't deserve you" –he presses his lips to mine– "Cassidy Slater. I'm keeping you anyway. " ♥︎ stars. I read this a while ago, so this review won't be very detailed, but this is a good read if you like the tropes of mafia, virgin girl / experienced guy, jealous /possessive hero, classy girl/ rough guy, and surprise pregnancy towards the end.
