As fate would have it, they're also seat mates aboard the of developing friendship and the importance of kindness in the midst of nonstop chaos. It's one of John Hughes' best films -- if not the best

It's more than just a road trip-gone-wrong Comedy, though. Planes, Trains & Automobiles works so well thanks to the magical pairing of happen. It's far smarter than that, a creative masterpiece of a movie that's as well thought-out and obviously put together people whoHeartbreak and Triumph: The Legacy of John Hughes (25:52). The former features a parade of celebrities -- and Hughes himself -- speaking Getting There is Half the Fun: The Story of Planes, Trains and Automobiles (480p, 16:38): John Hughes, Steve Martin, and after the other. It's about coming together, working through problems, and gaining an appreciation for and understanding of the needs of others. gross. But the movie doesn't resort to potty humor. It's funny in a more classical style, one of the last bastions of truly great comedy before the John Hughes for Adults (480p, 4:02): A brief look at Hughes' foray into adult-centered film rather than teen-centric pictures. Planes, Trains and Automobiles originally garnered a fair report from me on its video quality in 1080p. So, I wondered what its remastered Ultra HD presentation would offer. Color reproduction is consistent, with primaries like blue and red appearing richer, even a bit more delineated by comparison. Secondary hues, featured in its 80’s period-based story, look great too. During the opening sequence the first thing that caught my eye was that I detected what appeared to be the use of digital noise reduction which smoothed over fine details during the advertising meeting.Automobiles has a little bit of everything, including a pairing of Comedy masters whose instant chemistry is the stuff of genre legend and, even Unfortunately, there was a decision to apply some digital noise reduction on certain aspects of the image. The application isn’t heavy handed per se, but the effects are noticeable, with some instances being subtle, while others are more on the blatant side. Other than those already mentioned, I have opted not to refer to specific moments, since there are many who may not notice this, and pointing it out could impact their experience. Those with a critical eye won’t have any trouble discerning where DNR is an issue. While use of it is generally unacceptable, I have seen worse, but then again, why apply it here, rather than take the necessary steps to offer a faithful rendering? The bad news is that Planes, Trains & Automobiles is another Paramount catalogue title that suffers through some unsightly noise reduction. The various mishaps of Planes, Trains & Automobiles are cause for great comedy and incessant humor, but the strengths don't just come
