Description

If you own a brand-name RGB case fans get an RGB fan controller from the same brand. Each brand uses its own proprietary RGB controllers and software and while it’s technically possible to control off-brand RGB fans on some RGB fan controllers, it’s too big a hassle in most cases so it’s best to just get a controller from the same brand that made your RGB fans. Some PWN Controllers Enable PWM Control For Non-PWM Fans

With static color changes, you choose one color that is retained permanently (until you change it again). For example, give your PC lighting an orange or blue hue. The Phanteks Universal Fan Controller is an interesting device. It comes with five four-pin fan headers for PWM fans but also includes three 3-pin headers for non-PWM fans that can receive PWM control when hooked to the controller. You can control even more fans if you use fan headers. Flexibility:Normally, computer fans are not particularly calibrated to respond to the computer’s internal state. As a result, most of the time your fans are running more than they need to be. Efficiency:By the same token, a good fan controller helps make your rig more energy efficient by letting you control how much current is being supplied to your fans. You can also get controllers that automatically sense and respond to the temperature of components. This can also increase the lifespan of the fan. Less use = less wear. The controller also comes with a fan speed remote but since it comes with only three speed presets, it’s better to connect the controller to a PWM fan header on the motherboard since you cannot use both at the same time.It uses a pass-through USB 2.0 connector, so you can easily connect additional devices to the USB 2.0 header of the motherboard. If you run out of USB 2.0 headers, you can use the CORSAIR Internal 4-Port USB 2.0 Hub for more. The Noctua NA-FC1 is a tiny fan controller that makes building a small-form-factor PC incredibly easy. It's simple to install and can be hidden away anywhere inside the chassis. It features one output connector that leverages a splitter cable to control up to three fans simultaneously. At a budget price, this fan controller also comes with a generous six year warranty.

Good to know: are you building a gaming PC? Learn the mistakes to avoid. The Best RGB Lighting Software Corsair iCUE is software that manages all Corsair products on your computer. This software monitors the real-time temperature, creates custom lighting effects to alert you when temperatures rise, and also controls fan curves to change fan speeds. The fans inside your computer keep the component and the system cool. Generally, they spin at different RPMs (Rotation Per Minutes) depending on the load on your system. But sometimes, the fans might spin at a high RPM by default, which can cause the system to get noisy. If your case has both PWM and non-PWM fans get a fan controller that enables PWM control for non-PWM fans. This way your non-PWM fans won’t run at max speed all the time and your motherboard will be able to automatically set their voltage and speed. The downside is that the controller has only one PWM channel, using data from the fan connected to the Fan 1 connector. This is a great solution in case you have both PWM and non-PWM case fans and want to control them all automatically. The RPM of the first fan connected to the fan slot is read and returned to the system, setting PWM signal synchronously to all fans. Included in the box you'll get two adhesive EVA pads, two adhesive magnet pads, and a SATA cable. When your system needs cooling, all of the fans will work at the same time, however, if you only want some of your fans to spin, you'll need to disconnect them. Note: A fan curve is a chart visualization of fan speed and temperature. Using the chart, you can set the fan speed according to the temperature. Follow these steps to create your own fan curve.

Two included temperature sensors can be used to accurately monitor temperatures inside the case. The iCUE Commander Core XT is powered by a SATA power connector directly from your power supply and must be connected to an available USB 2.0 header on your motherboard. With dynamic color changes, the colors of your RGB fans and other components will continuously change. There are several lighting effects to choose from, such as a heartbeat pulse or a rainbow effect. Choosing a fan controller is simple. Just list your needs and see which controller fulfills them at the best price. Still, there are some details you need to focus on, especially if your PC case is filled with RGB and non-RGB fans and with both PWM and non-PWM fans. Same-Brand Controllers Are Best For RGB Case Fans Corsair iCUE allows you to synchronize the RGB lighting on all of your compatible corsair devices. There are four waves of light to choose from: Rainbow, Yellow, Rain, and Visor.FanControl is one of the best free fan control applications on the market. This application was developed by a single developer, Remi Mercier . This simple but elegant application controls all your fans, including case fans. However, you cannot use the application to control the colors on your RGB fans.

The iCUE Commander Core XT controls RGB lighting and fan speed of up to six fans via iCUE. It can intelligently detect any combination of CORSAIR RGB fans and can also be used to control the speed of PWM powered (4-pin) fans. pin headers contain 2 connectors for current and grounding and a third connector that relays information to the user about the RPM of the fans for monitoring purposes. 3-pin connectors can have their RPM modulated by adjusting the voltage sent to the fan, although this method isn’t as precise as 4-pin controllers. The iCUE Commander Core XT uses magnets to allow it to attach to any magnetic surface in your case. If there’s no magnetic space available, you can attach it anywhere you like using the included double-sided adhesive. Since the application is ASUS-specific, you can only control the fan speed of the ASUS graphic card. ASUS AI Suite 3 uses Fan Xpert 4 to manage all the fans connected to your motherboard. This also includes all case fans that are connected to the motherboard. But, you should have an ASUS motherboard to access this feature. MSI Dragon Center (For Windows) When you first boot up a modern gaming PC, you'll undoubtedly be greeted by a rainbow of lights coming from thekeyboard and other hardware. But unless you're into the unicorn aesthetic, you probably don't want to leave it that way—you’llwant to make it your ownusing your favorite colors and lighting patterns. That's where Auracomes in. MSI MYSTIC LIGHT PRODUCTS

Using the Dragon Center, you can customize any MSI product connected to your motherboard. This includes monitoring all the stats (CPU/GPU temperature, frequency, voltage, etc.) and fan control. The fan header refers to the port on your motherboard that you can hook fans up to. Most computer fans come in a 3-pin or 4-pin design, each number referring to the number of connector pins. This german software can control every case fan connected to the motherboard. You can also make your own fan curve configuration. Like SpeedFan, it uses SMART sensors to display HDD/SSD temperatures. Including all this, it also displays real-time CPU/GPU temperature. Note: SMART (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology) is a hard disk monitoring system that provides information on a drive’s status. The easiest and most versatile way to change the RGB fans colors is via RGB software. Most manufacturers have their own software which you can use free of charge.
