Dip a ClearWater® Test Strip in the centre of your Lay-Z-Spa, remove and hold it still for 15 seconds. Make sure that any outdoor storage of chemicals is as far away from your hot tub as possible and in a dry, covered area. Humidity or even small amounts of water can cause chemical reactions that could lead to dangerous fumes.

To successfully keep your chlorine levels at the ideal level you will need to measure the amount of chlorine you are adding to your spa based on the guidelines on your chemicals. Use Clearwater PH dip test strips to ensure optimal chlorine and pH levels are achieved. Outdoor storage areas for your hot tub chemicals should be situated away from anything flammable. Keep any petrol-powered equipment, like your lawnmower, in a different location. The storage area should also be away from sources of heat, like an outdoor fire pit or BBQ.It is common for chlorine tablets to create a high chlorine level which can be damaging to hot tub components. Thisdoes tend to be user error assome hot tubbers see tablets as a 'set and forget' system, which leads to misuse of the product. As with any hot tub sanitiser, PH and alkalinity levels must be balanced. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Have a First Aid Kit available for any accidents There are two mainsizes of chlorine tablet on the market. A 200g large chlorine tablet (3 inch diamater) and a 20g small chlorine tablet (1 inch diameter). The large 200g tablets are mainly designed for swimming pools whilst the 20g tablets are for hot tubs and small splasher pools.Due to the water capacity, we do not reccomend using large 200gswimming pool tablets in a hot tub as they will lead to high levels of chlorine which could cause damage to components. Use 20g chlorine tablets only in hot tubs. How Long do Chlorine Tablets Last in a Hot Tub? In a floating dispenser, fill the floating dispenser with tablets and adjust the aperture mechanism at the bottom of the dispenser to obtain the 1 - 3 mg/l (ppm) desired free chlorine range. Alternatively keep the dispenser aperture constant and vary the tablets inside to achieve 1-3 mg/l (ppm). The dispenser should be removed from the pool while swimmers are bathing. Clearwater pH Plus , also known as ‘pH increaser’ is the best way to increase pH levels that have dropped below the recommended level. To avoid skin discomforts and enable the chlorine in your spa to work effectively, it’s vital that acidity is monitored and controlled. The recommended pH balance of spa water is between 7.2 and 7.6. On the flip sidemany acrylic hot tub manufacturers do not recommend chlorine tablets for reasons thatwe will outline below. Please ensure that you follow your manufacturers recommendations to prevent damage to your hot tub. In this guide we will outline the good and bad things about tablets, how to use them and answer some common FAQs. Why Are Chlorine Tablets Good? in-1 tablets sanitise and stabilise your water whilst preventing algae growth and clearing cloudy water

Chemicals & What They Do

Never mix different chemicals in concentrated forms. This includes the kit products but also with other products like bleach or weedkillers – a dangerous reaction may occur. If you are going away we would suggest emptying the hot tub and cleaning it so the water is not left to go stagnant. Do not re-fill until you return from your trip. Clearwater Clarifier contains flocculants which bind small particles of debris and algae together so that your Lay-Z-Spa filtration system can adequately remove them, resulting in clean and sparkly water. This is a very effective way of preventing your spa water from looking dull and cloudy, due to the build-up of dead algae and debris that is too small to be trapped by your filter. Even if you have treated your spa for algae using Clearwater Algaecide, it is recommended that you use the Water Clarifier to remove any residual debris. For low pH levels below 7.2 you will need to use pH Plus to help raise the pH levels and balance the water. Clearwater Multifunction Tablets are an effective and hassle-free way of maintaining clear and healthy spa water. They contain a combination of chemicals that act in a number of ways. These slow-release tablets contain chlorine, algaecide and water clarifier. The chemical dispenser slowly releases the mini-tablets into the water, making this a completely hassle-free way of treating your water even for the user with a busy schedule.
