Description

Simply place them on top of hot coals and they’ll provide you with up to 4 hours of steady and reliable heat. The Eco Coffee Journey Waste Coffee Grounds into landfill is a catalyst for producing methane which is 20 times more damaging to the environment than CO2.

It’s easy to light, very efficient, burns anthracite and stays in overnight (ours has been in for three weeks now).Paired with a Firemizer and Firebuilder, these little recycled pocket-rockets worked an absolute treat for our eyes and our stove!

A compact fire log for wood burners and multi-fuel stoves, Coffee Logs are sustainably made from recycled coffee grounds. By recycling the nation’s cappuccinos into Coffee Logs heating briquettes, we reduce emissions by 80% compared to those grounds sitting in a landfill, making these efficient logs a sustainable alternative for fuelling your fire without heating the planet. Finally cut a piece of aluminium foil twice the size of the bread tin, double it over so that it fits inside the bread tin and place on top of the mixture and compress evenly.A fuel that reduces landfill waste, burns hotter and more efficiently than wood, can be used in burners and stoves, and offers the faint reassuring aroma of coffee? They take to the flame immediately and require little intervention – perhaps occasional rearrangement when the logs crumble into smaller fragments. Coffee Logs contain a high amount of caffeine, which can be potentially harmful to humans and animals if ingested.

Coffee Logs reduce waste by reusing coffee grounds that would otherwise be discarded and they avoid the heavy carbon footprint created by coal and other fossil fuels. They’ve already helped thousands of UK households save money by reducing their wood fuel consumption. From an economical perspective, it’s hard to judge as there are so many variables in everyone’s preffered fires. Once you have enough briquettes place them in your wood burner and light your fire as normal and add briquettes as required. Bio-Bean say would be impossible and commercially unviable to have Coffee Logs tested in every make and model of appliance already installed or on the market.

Break - We strongly recommend you break these briquettes in half (or less for very small stoves) because they do expand whilst burning and you don't want them to overfill the fire. However, lead times in peak season can extend to 5 working days, sometimes longer in extreme weather. I did suggest to Bio-Bean that they really ought to make it clear on their packaging that Coffee Logs are not currently approved for use in Smoke Control Areas. The accolade that truly marked Coffee Logs’ success was their triumph in the Virgin Media Business Voom 2016 competition. It is thought about 30 staff were made redundant as part of the administration process, leaving only skeleton staff remaining.
