Well-read but not particularly memorable. The female voice did that thing when she has to drop it pretty low to mimic the guy voices. That was a little funny to listen to. For many people, high school is their first formal exposure to the world of chemistry. Sadly, it isn’t always the most positive experience, and many students end up feeling … [Read More...] The Best General Chemistry Textbook (2023 Updated Guide)

Views expressed here do not necessarily reflect those of Chemistry Hall, all of its staff, contributors or partners. I don’t want to go into the other characters in the book, but I will say that Meyer did an incredible job at creating a varied cast. None of the characters felt like carbon copies of each other, or like two dimensional characters added merely to bulk up the cast. Every character felt real, and had their own fears and hopes and quirks. Meyer also presented dogs in a wonderful way, where they felt like fully fleshed out characters in their own right. I have a soft spot for authors who include animals as legitimate characters and give them their own vibrant personalities, so I was thrilled by this inclusion. Thus, by science I mean, first of all, a worldview giving primacy to reason and observation and a methodology aimed at acquiring accurate knowledge of the natural and social world. This methodology is characterized, above all else, by the critical spirit: namely, the commitment to the incessant testing of assertions through observations and/or experiments — the more stringent the tests, the better — and to revising or discarding those theories that fail the test. One corollary of the critical spirit is fallibilism: namely, the understanding that all our empirical knowledge is tentative, incomplete and open to revision in the light of new evidence or cogent new arguments (though, of course, the most well-established aspects of scientific knowledge are unlikely to be discarded entirely).

From organic to inorganic chemistry, through biochemistry and much more, you’ll find quality content on our platform. Browse our categories and find chemistry books written by recognized experts and professionals.

The term “organic” comes from the relationship between these compounds and life processes, however, there are many compounds studied by organic chemistry that are not present in living organisms, while many inorganic compounds are part of basic life processes such as mineral salts or metals such as iron, which is present in hemoglobin.Chemistry equations are challenging and are something a bit different from mathematical problems, pH scale, and equations. Therefore, the best chemistry publication should include an in-depth explanation while developing your understanding of the whole process. It should feature innovative ways to explain the core concepts to make students/readers understand the lessons easier. Does the book match our course content, and is the overall organization reasonable? Is the material at a level at which I plan to teach? Is the information accurate? Is it well-written, with good illustrations? I found THE CHEMIST to have an interesting plot line which was executed in incredible detail and the main characters were well developed. Carbon monoxide is a kind of chemical thug. It suffocates its victims by simply muscling oxygen out of the way.”

With your fourth choice, Deborah Blum’s The Poisoner’s Handbook, we are in the territory of true crime. Why do you recommend this book? The physicist Richard Feynman said that if in some cataclysm all scientific knowledge were to be destroyed, and only one sentence passed on to the next generation, the statement that would contain the most information in the fewest words would be ‘all things are made of atoms.’ I guess this is the heart of chemistry, or close to it. What more do we need to know about chemistry? There is no romantic tension. Meyer gives up everything instantly with the way she writes the first encounter between Alex and Daniel. Despite being a cold, calculating torturer, Alex feels so different about Daniel. And Daniel doesn't care that he's just experienced excruciating agony at the hands of this woman because HOT DAMN. I loved the suspense and the on-the-run solutions. The relationships were entertaining and while it was long, the characters stayed true to who they were. The romance is really surface level (clean) and Kevin’s reaction to it every time had me laughing out loud. I don’t know if the science was correct but the simple names and natural poisons were impressive. You probably agree with me on the first fact: chemistry is fascinating. There are plenty of unanswered mysteries within this science, but there are also many interesting and … [Read More...] The Best AP Chemistry Review Book (Ace Your Exam in 2023!) I LOVE the Twilight saga and I don't give a damn what the haters think. But I'm not sure if I will like this book because it's not my normal genre but I have been surprised in the past so we shall see =) I was genuinely curious about how Meyer would move from paranormal YA to an adult Spy Thriller. Would I find myself amazed as I typed out a positive review about how far she has come? Would I be rolling my eyes as I ranted about how terrible and offensive this was? Honestly, though, this book isn't as exciting as either of those options. Disclaimer: This article is purely informative, and it does not contain information about how to actually carry out experimental procedures for the synthesis of LSD or any … [Read More...]

Mis expectativas eran realmente altas y me defraudó. Como pudo la misma persona escribir la saga Twilight y este libro?
