Description

The Thrustmaster T300RS GT gives players exactly what it promises - an authentic racing feeling. It has a high-quality finish and is easy to grip. However, for the fact that you only get a third pedal, the price difference to the standard version is quite high. Though if you attach importance to a manual transmission, the investment is worthwhile. It remains to be said that such a steering wheel requires a racing seat - this is the only way you can fully enjoy its features. T300 RS GT Edition: Price UK Many owners end up wanting to upgrade the pedals after a while too. The pedal caps are metal, but this is really just a basic plastic construction, without the stiffness of a great board or more advanced features like a high-end progressive brake. When I moved over to a Fanatec CSL Elite, the difference in quality was really eye opening. I've recently just upgraded my based from the CSL to the CSW V2.5 (Not intrested in the DD wheels even though it's the same price 2nd hand). Because I tend to drive late 80's to early 90's F1 cars, I find having a heavy feel with my wheel just makes me enjoy the race that much more. It doesn’t feel altogether luxurious, though. The Logitech G27 uses a leather-topped wheel that gives a more serious feel than the Thrustmaster T300 RS’s rubber. Of course, much of that is forgotten once you’ve bedded into using it. GT EDITION PEDAL SET: 3 adjustable metal pedals included: Metal pedals, Accelerator and clutch pedals adjustable (height and spacing).

It is important to note that when you go through the setup phase, you must have the small switch on the bottom left of your base set to the ‘PS3 mode’. You must keep your wheel on this setting when you are using it on PC. It’s a little more polished in its presentation than its arch rival Fanatec CSL Elite too. However, for the real-world buyer we do wonder whether many of you might be better off with the Fanatec or the cheaper Thrustmaster options. The Thrustmaster T-GT doesn’t come with next-level pedals and its steering could be smoother considering the price. As such it seems a little expensive, if still a sensational wheel in its own right. However, you can change the overall strength if you are feeling too much or too little weight through the wheel. Some cars in ACC have a higher wheel weight than others, whilst some are lighter, so you may often change this if you are constantly swapping cars or struggling with weight. Step 4: Applying the best T300RS settings for ACC The exterior of the steering wheel part itself is also all-plastic, without the metal parts that make these wheels seem a bit less toy-like. There's still sports car-like metal spoke shifters behind the wheel, though.

You can think of it as the equivalent to a screen resolution change if you like. A movie is not made better by being shown at 4K rather than 480p DVD quality, but the experience of watching it is still more enjoyable. A Thrustmaster T150 will indicate when your car is about to lose traction just like a T-GT, but the way this is relayed is subtler and more detailed. The wheel base uses a belt system, like its T-series brothers. Some had hoped the T-GT would use a direct drive system, where there are no gears or belts between the motor and “steering column”. But Thrustmaster has gone with something more familiar. We’re slightly surprised the wheel diameter is quite a small as it is, though. It’s roughly the same as the T300, about 70% of a real car’s scale, smaller than the Fanatec rival. A larger wheel naturally provides a more serious, realistic feel. And takes up more space, mind.Much like with the G29 and G920 below, the Thrustmaster TX and T300 wheels are essentially the same, but boast the key difference of working with different consoles. The Thrustmaster TX is for Xbox One and the T300 RS is for PlayStation owners.

Of course, all these effects are actually created by game developers, with Thrustmaster merely providing the tools with which to relay them. This is an important point, because as yet the PS4 — the lead platform for the Thrustmaster T300 RS — does not have a particularly serious racing game in its library. As such, you’ll need patience or another platform (PS3/PC) to get the most from the wheel. It won’t work with an Xbox One or Xbox 360. Fanatec wheels are perfect if you're looking for a supremely accurate and immersive racing experience. Fanatec's options tend to be on the pricier side. But you'll usually get a lot of extra bells and whistles as a result. What is the best budget F1 racing wheel? The steering wheel's pedals are decent, if not the large upgrade we would have expected at this price Pedals The dual-belt mechanism allows for smoothing out of the different data elements received from the race course or circuit. I voided my warranty because I thought I could fix it by replacing the fan with a stronger one but it didnt help and I now i have a crappy T300 on my shelf. So yeah, pretty bummed about the quality and unfortunately it's not a single incident as you can read on these forums.

Good stories never end: After the success of The T300 RS, Thrustmaster and GT join strength again to offer gamers a realistic, powerful driving experience, with no compromises: The T300 RS GT. Fanatec and Thrustmaster charge a lot more for leather wheels. The Logitech G29 gets you higher-end extras at no extra cost. Its pedalboard is much better than anything else at the price too, with a board that has a clutch and very solid metal plates. It’s not plastic rubbish. First, the G29 is more affordable than the direct Thrustmaster alternatives, the T300 series wheels. The quality of the wheel itself is great too. There’s a metal core and leather stitched over the parts your hands grip. Like the T300RS on which it’s based, the T300RS GT Edition is a handsome looking device, and is comprised of three main components. There’s a set of pedals, a steering base and removable wheel, too. However, the GT Edition adds a series of small tweaks to set it apart from the standard T300RS.

Ecosystem: Compatible on PS4™, PS3™ & PC with detachable Thrustmaster wheels, 3-pedal pedal set T3PA-PRO. Racing wheels are a pricey investment for a niche genre, but the T300RS GT Edition is a comprehensive starting point. The belt-driven wheel includes a pedal set with three metal pedals – a step up from the original T300RS model which made do with two. We can’t imagine many people being unhappy with the Thrustmaster T300 RS, though, especially as it’s one of the first wheels to offer full PS4 support. It features a little slider on the wheelbase that switches compatibility between PC/PS3 and PS4, because it’s not simply a case of developing a PS4 driver. To make it stand out from the standard version, adjustments have been made in some places. The look is almost identical, but instead of the PlayStation logo, a Gran Turismo logo is now emblazoned on the steering wheel hub. The gear changes are also smoother. Authenticity Is Key The Logitech G920 is pretty much the same as the G29 above, except it's for use with the Xbox One. The G29 is for use with the PlayStation 4.

Authenticity Is Key

Settings such as the steering linearity, brake gamma and gearshift debouncing aren’t anything you need to worry about unless you have an issue with your wheel or pedals in which the brake gamma might be adjusted. Step 5: Finding your perfect control bindings If you're on a budget, then, we'd recommend either the Thrustmaster T150 or the Hori Overdrive wheel for Formula 1 and other racing sims. They're fantastic entry-level wheels that, unlike the Thrustmaster T300 RS, won't cost the earth. If you’re a multi-console gamer it’s worth thinking carefully about which you’d rather get a wheel for. Do you prefer Forza or Gran Turismo? Wheels like the Thrustmaster T-GT aren’t just singular products, but accessory platforms, making the decision all the more important. You can replace the wheels part itself, for example, upgrade the pedals and add a gear shifter. It’s not a major win if you race with headphones or a headset. But switching between the T-GT, T300RS and Logitech G29 those older wheels seem positively distracting by comparison. Once again, the immersion factor is simply better. Realistic, accurate transmission of the different elements of each race directly to the user’s hands makes this motor a must-have. Contrary to a simple brushed motor, the brushless motor technology built into the T300RS series racing wheels also allows for an extremely quiet racing experience.
