Description

Are you new to using speakers and subwoofers? Well, it is not difficult at all. Thanks to Sony SA-SW5 300W wireless connection, you can easily connect to your soundbar. It automatically establishes the connection and indicates a green light to show it is set up.

We also noticed that the soundbar cut out once or twice during our two-week testing period. It would happen without rhyme or reason and would momentarily cause the audio to stop before resuming - however, it was certainly annoying whenever it happened.Consisting of four, wireless speakers and a compact control hub, the Sony HT-A9 makes surround sound easier than ever. Simply connect your TV, and one other AV source, to the control hub, place the wireless speakers around you, and enjoy immersive sound in minutes from unboxing. There are so many connections that the cavern on the rear that’s designed to hold all the ports is on the cramped side, which is worth bearing in mind if you think you might want to access it regularly. Swapping to Blade Runner 2049 in Dolby Atmos, we skip to where K meets the memory-maker Dr Ana Stelline. As the atmosphere in her hermetically sealed chamber transitions from rainforest to laboratory, the shift in the scale of the space that the A9 produces is effective. The sound fills our listening room nicely, and while we don’t get the sense that there are 12 sound sources in the room, there are no prominent gaps in the soundfield. Turning on some Spotify, we were impressed with the force of the soundbar and, again, that robust mid-range. Trebles could’ve been a little clearer and the bass - while easy to hear - just didn’t have the same depth that a separate sub can provide. Bass, especially lower bass, is more controlled and detailed compared to the SW3. When playing bass heavy movies, I could hear the nuances in the low notes. Possibly slightly more low end extension than the SW3, but it is negligible .

If you also want to conjure up a visit, combining the HT-A7000 with either the Sony SA-SW5 or Sony SA-SW3 wireless subwoofers and/or the Sony SA-RS3S wireless rear speakers is easy. Just plug in and position the speakers, power them on, and their indicator lights will flash green until the soundbar automatically recognizes them. Then you can re-run the room configuration process with the additional speakers connected. The soundbar’s remote has dedicated volume buttons for both the rear speakers and the subwoofer, so you can find the right mix for your taste. Two compatible subs let you augment the soundbar to summon-the-neighbors levels of rumble. So, who should buy the Sony HT-A7000 soundbar? Great sound I bought the Sony HT A9 system with the SW5 sub from richer sounds in Oxford. It is to replace my old dead Panasonic surround system that I bought fifteen years ago. I wanted to get rid of the speaker cables trailing around my lounge as well. I thought about getting sonos, but three of the four people I know who own sonos did not recommend it. Switching to the dynamically diverse Et In Carnatus Est and Santus of Mozart’s Grosse Messe there’s a pleasant warmth and consistency in the strings across the lower midrange, and the sub makes a decent attempt at the majestic timpani rolls and organ bursts. Here the vertical surround engine is an enjoyable addition and seems to add a touch of sweetness to the higher frequencies.

This wireless subwoofer is designed specifically to pair with Sony’s soundbars. These include HT-A7000, HT-A5000, and HT-A9. It upgrades your home theater by offering you a cinematic sound experience. The subwoofer box has excellent build quality with sof touch materials all around. There is a front firing and also a downfiring driver. It only uses 43w of electricity and automatically connected with the Soundbar when plugged in. It is about 12 feet away from the Soundbar and there have not been any wireless connection issues. Another benefit of the wireless system is its portability. You do not need several cables along with the subwoofer. If you are placing it from one location to another, it is still straightforward. 2. Explosive Bass Not only that, but you can also enjoy movies. If you have a big gathering of friends or family, the subwoofer is excellent. It produces low-frequency sound. But, the best part is its clarity. You understand the dialogues, music, and environment with a cinematic experience. 2. Competitive Price

A wireless subwoofer means that it requires no wires or cables to connect with the soundbar or other devices. However, that does not prevent its power source. You will still need a power cable to connect and start the device. Is it necessary to buy a subwoofer? The explosive bass is produced by maximizing the magnetic force. Since it drives the voice coil, the subwoofer offers clear sound.

Sony’s newest flagship is a big ‘bar for big bucks

The Sony HT-A7000 with Speakers + SW5 Bass Module has a great stereo frequency response. Its frequency response is pretty neutral, though vocals and lead instruments may be slightly muddy and muffled at times. There's a dip between the mid-bass and the high-bass that represents the weak hand-off between the sub and the bar itself. With real-life content, you may notice this as a hole in the soundstage. Final thoughts: I ended up returning the SW3 and keeping the SW5 because I liked it’s sound profile more. But is the SW5 really better than the SW3? Not really, I think both subs have their strengths in different areas. The SW3 would be great for apartment-dwellers, or anyone with sensitive neighbors. Even at low volumes, the SW3 provided me with an exciting movie/gaming experience with it’s punchy mid-bass. The SW5 really shines when you turn up the volume enough to make use of it’s passive radiator and send deep detailed bass notes throughout your room. If there were no limits to our income or living space we’d happily add the optional surrounds and sub, but the A7000 does not feel wanting of any extra support. It’s an incredibly competent, future-proofed performer that enhances everything we watch and sets a new benchmark for Dolby Atmos soundbars at its price.

It could be time to upgrade your home audio system with a Sony wireless subwoofer, but which is the one for you? A Sony home stereo system with subwoofer is one of the best sub speaker brands you can have. The combination of a Sony speaker bar and stereo woofer can elevate your movie nights to the next level. The Sony HT-A7000 is the flagship Sony soundbar and I wanted to test it on its own before hooking up optional components. Because the HT-A7000 handles the flaming-hot Dolby Atmos surround-sound format, I threw a lot of Atmos-encoded movies and music at it, while also using it for normal TV and music, most of which was not made for Atmos or Sony 360 Reality Audio.

For the best experience, pair with a compatible Sony BRAVIA TV and enjoy Acoustic Centre Sync. This uses the TV’s built-in speakers as the dialogue, or centre speaker, helping to firmly locate the sound to the picture. Watching Scandinavian horror Midsommar in 5.1, the subtle details of the disturbing sound design, from exaggerated breathing to ominous gusts of wind, are well pronounced and disarming. We try implementing the Immersive AE setting, and the translation is solid and engaging, though the quality of the standard mix is such that we don’t find it necessary.
