The American Dream usually means making something out of yourself from nothing, but this doesn’t necessarily have to happen in America. it's clear that a profound love and respect exist between them, creating a beautiful bond that resonates throughout the pages. As a successful student/ study machine of Airington College, Alice can only get partial scholarship and she finds out her family cannot afford the rest of her tuition.To begin with a less internal impression of the book's substance, the writing itself was textbook Wattpad. it makes me almost dizzy, thinking about the stark differences in realities, what will be and what could’ve been. First, the task that eventually leads to the novel’s climax and denouement requires Alice to perform a criminal act. this book has been on my tbr and one of my most anticipated reads for months and i just want to say that ann liang’s books will never disappoint! she started off as a person who relied on others to feel worthy but then became someone who dares to dream and hope for what she wants and it was so beautiful.

The kidnapping plot was also extremely random, even more outlandish than Alice's invisibility — it invokes the stereotypical mafia-esque tendencies of powerful rich families in fiction without any of the foundation to support it. Their relationship with each other is fun, and I enjoyed seeing their relationship grow throughout the book.I loved the academics and culture mixed into this and also the small twists and turns the book took.
