This one is new to me but it sounds so adorable! Evie sounds like a gem (cookiness and all) and Jake seems positively swoony! Unfortunately, I don’t hold that opinion of him for very long. Not when he shows me a different side of himself—one that’s sweet as maple syrup and hot as apple pie fresh out of the oven. The day I meet with single dad, Jacob Broaden, about potentially matching his daughter with one of our service dogs, I learn a few valuable lessons. I finally found something to get invested in. It’s a book in a series about a profiler and serial killers. I think maybe I just needed something a little murdery haha. It was really adorable. Light and fluffy in a good way, but also with deeper stuff that didn’t bog down or create angst.

He reaches up and runs his hand through my hair. The look on his face says he’s wanted to do that all night—maybe even since he met me."But the thing about quiet people is, we’re only quiet because our brains are so busy overthinking everything.” If you're tired and had a rough day and only have one functioning brain cell left to use, definitely give this a read. Some of the lines are so funny I didn't even notice the thin plot. Something about it sounds oddly monotone, robotic, and almost…rehearsed. “Oh no. Looks like we blew a fuse! I guess we’ll have to light some candles. Nathan, you around here? Need a candle, buddy?”

It was humorous, adorable, and swoony. There were so many moments that had me smiling and laughing. Evie was a breath of fresh air. She was slightly cooky, but in a sweet way. Even when she acted on the crazy side, what could have been creepy turned out cute. I can’t even explain it. The way she was with everyone from her dog to Sam to Jake made me love her even more. I also appreciated how she stood up for herself against her horrible, wealthy parents. And Jake… Even when I felt like I should have disliked him, I loved him. He was such a great father, brother, and son. How he saw Evie made me so happy for her. Their relationship was so cute and fun to read about, and it had just the right amount of drama. Great review! I’m not too far into this yet, but I agree it’s very cute! My mood is just making me take a long time to read anything. The epilogue and the...I don't know what you would call an epilogue after an epilogue. Post-epilogue? Literally made me pull a face and contemplate throwing the book across the room, but I couldn't because I read it on my phone and I like my phone. It's so TWEE. If you shoved melted cotton candy down my throat and followed it with that stuff they give you for colonoscopy prep, it couldn't be more gag-inducingly sweet. Everything is PERFECT. They get married fast, nine months later she's pregnant and they're swooning around in their perfect life, and then the pointless post-epilogue informs us, pointlessly, of the perfect birth of the perfect baby. No hint of his other daughter having hormonal mood swings over having a baby sibling, or of scary epilepsy situations with Evie or Sam, or even, like, one of the characters getting an unpleasant hangnail. Note: contains romance (a few steamy kisses), talk of butts (non-sexual), manipulative family relations, seizures associated with epilepsy. Really quite clean. Then Evie meets Jacob Broaden and there are instant sparks—but not the good kind. Although his ten-year-old daughter, Sam, was recently diagnosed with epilepsy, the newly single dad had no idea she set him up for an initial client meeting with Evie. It doesn’t take long for Jacob to be convinced that Evie, and her magical, woodland-green eyes, might just be the best thing for him and his daughter. This book is for all the four-legged superheroes of the world, saving lives, giving love and independence to those who need it!”

Do you see now? You’re always giving me things that remind you of me, but I’m over here stealing things that remind me of you. I’m not humoring you, Bree. I’m not taking this lightly. I’m so devastatingly in love with you, it hurts sometimes—and I have been since high school.”Unfortunately, I don’t hold that opinion of him for very long. Not when he shows me a different side of himself—one that’s sweet as maple syrup and hot as apple pie fresh out of the oven. And after a few days of working closely with him and his daughter, he starts looking at me with fire in his eyes, making me dream of something I probably shouldn’t… Unfortunately, he shows a different side of himself and her opinion of him changes as she learns that he can be as hot as freshly made apple pie and sweet as maple syrup. But she thinks Jake is so far out of her league that she has no chance of playing in his game. The Matchwas a wholesome romantic comedy about two individuals who fall in love in an unconventional way.

I am the quiet one in my family. The one with her nose always in a book because she prefers worlds where she doesn’t have to interact with other humans. It’s so much easier to read about relationships than to foster them. Less dangerous too.” The dialog is so much fun. The ending felt rushed, and some parts felt redundant or way too predictable. This book wasn’t on my radar but it sounds perfect and sweet. I’ll add it to my TBR, you had me at “what could have been creepy turned out cute.” 😀 The book references Gilmore Girls, and yep, it's all lifted straight from the show. The show did it with much more depth, though, which is really saying something, because that show is fluff with clever dialogue.Evie Jones has dedicated her life and very limited funds working for Southern Service Paws, the company that matched her with the love of her life: Charlie, a service-dog trained to assist with her epilepsy. But it’s no secret that the company has been struggling to make ends meet. It’s up to her and her long-time mentor and boss to throw the fundraiser of a century to keep the doors open. Too bad this guy is so far out of my league that I shouldn’t even be allowed to enter the game. Jake doesn’t seem to get that memo though. And after a few days of working closely with him and his daughter, he starts looking at me with fire in his eyes, making me dream of something I probably shouldn’t… But he seems to have never gotten the memo as after several days of working together he starts looking at her with fiery eyes. This makes her dream of things she probably should not be thinking about. With a sigh, I look down at my newest Breenket. “Well, magic eight ball, what do you think? Should I tell my best friend I love her?”
