Description

A sinister celebration is a very good name, but have you noticed that the first book has murder in the title, the second doesn’t, the third does, the fourth doesn’t and so on. There’s The Case of the Uninvited Guest, the account of exactly what happened at Uncle Felix and Aunt Lucy’s wedding.

I think that the new girl is not the victim (you can see my explanation of my theory some where on this page, but it might not make much sense to you). It was one of my greatest triumphs (Hazel Wong, my Vice-President and best friend, is telling me that this is boasting, but it is also the truth). Contains the two short stories The Case of the Blue Violet and The Case of the Deepdean Vampire, previously published as ebook shorts. When I start to read Top Marks for Murder I will be 5000 miles flying in the air to Croatia, so it two very exciting things will be happening at once.It is really hard knowing that Daisy is gone – I looked up to her, she was my idol and itt upsets me to know she is forever gone. What really surprised me was that you mentioned one of the detective society members was not going to make it back from Egypt.

I began reading MMU just a few months ago, maybe around February and had finished them all except Death sets sail (as it has only been out for a few days). Verity forbids this fact, but Miss Griffin then provides her with evidence of her birth and the adoption, too. How on earth did you have enough time to think of all of those titles, I couldn’t even think of ONE decent title in a week! I’m now reading the extract from Jolly Fowl Play, and when I’ve finished that, I’m going to read The Case of Lavinia’s Missing Tie – my brother(who in many ways is not unlike Bertie) has to put up with this every morning!

Even my Mum has started reading your books, but for some reason she manages to figure out the murder(s) much quicker than I ever would! I don’t know if this is a silly suggestion, but if Hazel and Daisy hate the Junior Pinkertons, maybe they could nickname them the Junior Pin-cushions. Now, you may remember that I was supposed to be revealing this cover in April – and you may also have noticed something a bit different about the cover, above.

That one is set before the series begins – it’s the case Hazel refers to in the very first chapter of Murder Most Unladylike. Keen-eyed readers may have an inkling as to which way the wind is blowing here, but the brevity of the story means it’s loaded with fun and the pace is quick. It will also work because then it goes back to murder most unladylike, which has murder in the title.

I can see what Robin Stevens wrote this short over mysterious love letters from Daisy's point of view, rather than Hazel's, who is more suited for the seriousness of murder. I will look forward to finishing the third book and then moving on to the fourth and fifth when they come out! At the moment I haven’t got any ideas, so what I’ll do is think of things related to Egypt and use your previous books to see if there is a pattern to how you come up with the titles! Any reader with any experience reading whodunits will have figured out the whole "plot" by the time the car turns into the drive the first time.
