Description

He believes in pragmatism, stoicism, and mindfulness which makes him better at being aware of and directing his thoughts. Also, he believes in action and things which work. Having experimented with many tactics and mindsets, in this work of his, he shares what has worked for him and is generalized enough for anyone to adopt. Narrative I’ve procrastinated and putt off my desire to write a book for a decade. I always came up with excuses like, “it’s not the right time.” Or, “I need to do more research.” PDF / EPUB File Name: Do_It_Today_Overcome_Procrastination_-_Darius_Foroux.pdf, Do_It_Today_Overcome_Procrastination_-_Darius_Foroux.epub The importance of creating a productive work environment. This means having a clean and organized workspace, having the right tools and resources, and being comfortable. The title didn’t have a profound meaning when I first wrote this book. I had written an article called Do It Today, which I thought captured my philosophy for life nicely. But I didn’t give the title much thought. Lately, I’ve been repeating the phrase Do It Today to myself while doing hard work. Today I went on an intense ride on my road bike, and towards the end of the one-hour workout, I repeated the phrase to myself.

The Do it today book can help you overcome procrastination by changing your focus from putting off to taking action right away.

The philosophy of Do it today emphasizes the importance of taking immediate action towards achieving one’s goals. The book emphases the importance of overcoming procrastination and taking advantage of the present moment to pursue our goals and dreams. Most of us, myself included, like to procrastinate, putting off things until tomorrow, but here's a little secret. Tomorrow never comes. So why not do it today? Figure out how to get the important things done. To Gain Focus

Taking action immediately can break the cycle of procrastination and avoid the negative effects that it can have on productivity. I loved the suggestions in this section on improving personal effectiveness. You may consider the tips offered here. Do you spend the majority of your day at your desk? And do find it difficult to concentrate throughout the day? There’s a simple solution to improve your productivity and focus. “How can I get more stuff done without being distracted?” That’s a question I often get. It’s human nature: We always want to improve output. For machines, it’s straightforward: You improve speed. Machines get faster and better every day. The book is set out in three parts with a series of exceptionally well written articles on how to overcome procrastination, how to improve productivity and how to achieve more. In Part 3, Foroux focuses on how to achieve more meaningful things in your life. He argues that we should focus on goals that are important to us and that will make a difference in the world. He also discusses the importance of taking action and not waiting for the perfect moment.

Customer reviews

Think about past successes. Thinking about past successes makes you happy. Celebrate the small wins in life. This is something that I have to do more of. Almost all the examples in the book are from the author’s life. This makes the book a little too personal for the readers’ liking. The author could have instead focused on citing instances from different walks of life, for this would have helped him reach out to and connect with a much larger audience. QUOTES These two lessons are true for every person who wants a long, happy, and satisfying career. But it’s very hard to put that advice into practice. It took me the first six years of my career to figure that out. And I still have to remind myself that life is bigger than work. Almost everywhere that I’ve worked in the past, there was a “perception is reality” culture.
