The projection is very good so if you wear Devin it will be surely noticed (silage is a plus however longevity isn’t phenomenal, expect 6 hours or so. I have deleted and re edited this post as my first review did this amazing fragrance a complete injustice. A fresh and dark green woodsy scent with big pine and cedar, a classic masculine scent for a guy any guy who wants to smell 'different' from the rest and shows not his age but his good taste and his maturity. The scents feels very cohesive (prob because of the oakmoss) and as numerous people mentioned (and the box itself as well): very outdoorsy! Devin by Aramis is a citrus fragrance that was launched in 1978, the scent opens with top notes of Bergamot, Galbanum, Artemisia and Lemon.

To my nose, the current formulation of Aramis Devin smells almost exactly like the current formulation of Aliage by Estee Lauder, which I love. The Aramis fragrances I've tried have all been distinctly strange (although New West is the most wearable of the lot) and delightful. As for comparisons to Z-14 and Quorum, not that close, yet linked somehow, and Devin is a far smoother experience than both. This fragrance would be very suitable for the winter time and reminds me of someone charming who has a bit of an edge and smokes cigarettes. I was a punk rocker and I know this fragrance was targeted to a more, uh-hem, conservative crowd, but I wore it nonetheless. It's almost like a combination of all three, the opening is very similar to Eau Savage while the dry down has the smokiness and warmth of Jazz Club/By the Fire. Sometimes i close my eyes and sense how a fragrance can just make me feel or remember something, even if I cant quite put my finger on what it is.

I actually like it more than Yatagan, since it doesn't have the infamous celery note and seems to have more edgy bitterness to it. That morning earl grey my grandfather drank at that old wooden table in his house in Illinois, before the sun had even come up. More leaning towards classic cyphre in the likes of Eau Sauvage Dior, and reminiscent of Dunhill for men Classic.Top notes are aldehydes, orange, artemisia, lavender, galbanum, bergamot and lemon; middle notes are carnation, cinnamon, jasmine, caraway and pine tree needles; base notes are labdanum, leather, amber, patchouli, musk, oakmoss and cedar. Devin's contrasting notes (the hallmark of chypre compositions) also kind of remind me of Rogue Perfumery's Chypre Siam. Please consult your doctor before taking any new product, particularly if you are already under medical care. I do find the balance (and integration) of fresh, bitter and sweet to be a little off, although, surprisingly, but the sweetness works really well in hot and humid weather.

A piney male chypre that does a fougere fake-out at the top and slides into a whirlwind of crisp, tart greenery and aldehydes with the piney-ness always there. They are generally built around bergamot, oakmoss, labdanum and patchouli and have a warm, dry effect. His first scent for Aramis, the eponymous Aramis, was a masterpiece of the leathery chypre genre - bold and spicy, yet warm and inviting. There are much better reviews which sum up the notes, but my 2 cents: Soapy aldehyde opening with brief citrus, quickly revealing the base notes of gentle leather, labdanum, light sweetness and green moss. On that note, my Father is a total outdoors guy, Hiking, Fishing etc, I always see him as a modern Jeremiah Johnson, I bought an extra bottle of this Fragrance as a present for him so that kind of sums up what I mean, It's a fragrance for an outdoors guy with a connection to nature.

Later that same day tried Halston Z14 and immediately drew comparison, but with the Z14 not invoking the same wave of disgust (wet cardboard rarely does).Clever balance between green notes (with plenty of oakmoss and pine needles) and a warm, comfortable mix of cinnamon, carnation and galbanum that goes on forever. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). Bergamot, orange, galbanum, lavender, mugwort, aldehyde and lemon make up the top of this particular cologne.
