Description

Dairy cows are, as you’d expect, bred for producing milk to sell cheese, butter, creams, and milk at its varying percentages. This beautiful Highland cow outline makes for a lovely mindfulness colouring activity. Use it with your learners for an engaging art and design lesson, and have plenty of fun creating a colourful cow. This is a great activity for a Steven Brown art topic, or for creating a mindful atmosphere with your pupils. Hereford cows come from England, and were developed in the 1700s to serve the new meat market that resulted from the industrial revolution.

Children will also learn how to control their stress in the classroom when they complete this activity. Mindfulness colouring is ideal for calming down children, and they’ll start to feel more peaceful whilst doing the activity. This can help them realise when they’re starting to feel stressed. Also, you could trace over my cow illustration on a different sheet of paper to include multiple cows, giving these social little calves some friends on paper! 5. Angus CowsWhen researching the gene that dilutes Charolais (D C) to white the authors found a gene at the end of chromosome 28 that appeared to soften any colour even further (makes a red animal light red, nearly yellow for example) and this may well be present in Highlands and could explain some of those 'in between cattle'. They also postulated another gene that may darken coat colour slightly. American farmers began breeding Red Angus cows in the 1940s, and today, beef from this breed is in high demand in the United States.

Help your pupils to understand and celebrate bonfire night with our explosive Fireworks Colouring Sheets. These cows have brown or tan bodies, long fur, and horns. When filling in this coloring sheet, I recommend drawing in Scottish heather fields to add some more color to the illustration! 4. Calf/ Baby Cows When coloring in my baby calf illustration, I recommend using really bright and youthful colors, such as pink, blue, or yellow. Dress it up a little with glitter and other stationery. Cows are super cute and very interesting, so keep reading to learn about 10 popular cow breeds, some facts about them, and how to use our cow-themed coloring sheets! 1. Dairy Cows
