Description

A special book about a honest and strong women who has overcome many difficulties and has finally gotten her big break. I could relate to Chrissy in a lot of aspects in this book, her advice is stuff we've all heard before, but her examples of how she applied it to her own circumstances, made the book more relateable to me.

Presentation: The ending image is a great touch when they show an empty suitcase and prompt the reader to think about what they would take if they had to leave. It was a great feature in wrapping up a story while promoting a deeper thinking about the book. It puts the reader into the book and has them think about what they would do. Our Book of the Month for Age 3+ is This is Me, a beautiful new picture book celebrating our differences, brought to us by CBeebies sensation George Webster and bestselling illustrator Tim Budgen. George Webster was catapulted into the public eye when he spoke about down syndrome in his myth-busting video for BBC Bitesize, he now brings us this genuine and heartfelt story. This is Me will bring out the glow in everyone! Our differences make us special. We don’t all have to be the same. Imagine how boring the world would be if everyone had the same name.I loved the parts when she talked about working with kids, and how their rules are important for us adults (maybe even more than for the kids). It starts with "Be a Good Friend", give them a turn, invite someone that you don't know to talk or play at the playground and not use the approach of guilty-until-proven-innocent to people. We miss a lot of awesome people if we make them prove their worth to us before opening up. If we all accepted newcomers to our lives and then got to decide if they live up to our openhearted expectation. There are other great ones, like "Do Your Best Work" and "Use Your Listening Ears" Chrissy is strong and outstanding woman. As usual, I never heard about her before her book, since I am rarely watching anything. I was very happy to find out who she is, reading about her past, and her rising to be a successful person, in a larger size than our media embraces. I would categorize this book as a Self-Help Memoir. Chrissy gives explains how she overcame many obstacles in her life and shares these lessons with her readers. She is a strong independent woman, moving her whole life from Gainsville, Florida to Los Angeles, California to pursue her acting career. This was not something that came easy for her and she spent 9 years as a agent helping others with their acting careers before she was able to really start her own.

I don't remember why Trigger hit me the first time. I know he thought I'd had it coming for a while. I bet I was too loud putting away the dishes. Or I didn't put his Coca-Cola in the fridge and he wanted a cold Coke. That would usually do it." pg 28, ebook Book Summary: This book promotes thinking about who we really are and where were from. If you had to leave with just a suite case the next day, what would you bring and why? Who doesn’t love Mrs Hinch!? I have followed her on insta for a while now, love watching her insta stories. My other half and his friends at work went through a phase of discussing how much their Mrs loved ‘hinching’ and how their lives were getting taking over my Zoflora! LIKE ITS A BAD THING! (We all ave our favourite scent right!?)A hugely uplifting and full-of-heart picture book by CBeebies sensation George Webster and bestselling illustrator Tim Budgen! This has not become a review of this specific book at this point, really. I could be talking about any other 'influencer' who has written a book, or ghost written a book *coughZoellacough*. Major Themes: Culture is a major theme of this story. The teacher tells the students about her culture, and we see unique cultures of the students. Acceptance is another theme; the students tell all about their most prize possessions to their peers. The students share their interests, and meaningful belongings, without fear of rejection. The last theme of this book is: Individuality. The students show all their unique personalities. They each have their own voices; and we get to hear about the things they love most. I am not the type of Hincher that buys everything she uses and I started watching her insta for cleaning tips (I am a bit OCD) but as her account, and family has grown I have found myself skipping the cleaning stories and watching her and her family - not in a voyeuristic way but the happy for her way. Ronnie is gorgeous and always makes me smile, I adore Henry and Sophie and Jamie make me laugh - I have the same issue with my husband leaving things all over the house. Sophie throwing his flip flops on the front garden is something I can relate to. That’s the thing about her - so many people can relate to her! I read and listened to this one on audio read by Chrissy herself. First, I love her as Kate on This Is Us, and that she was so brave to tell her story. I'm glad I read the book and passed it on to others at work.
