Subtle and inoffensive to the point of being a tad bland. The notes that come close to setting it apart from many other similar fragrances do so diplomatically, not much is being said here. Even the sparkling alcoholic note isn’t that bold, a couple of glasses of bubbly aren’t out of the ordinary at even the most uptight functions. I always dust this off and give it a try every month or so but I just never like it. It's odd because it's inoffensive...but somehow it doesn't sit right with me. It gave me a headache the other day and I think I just need to officially let this one go.

The lotions, the body mists, the perfumes all smell so beautifully done and Sarah needs a bit more respect in my eyes as I don’t see this as a dupe for NR that was far too sharp and screechy for me where as lovely is inviting and lovely lol. Think of it as a nice hug from a loved one or the feeling of laying down in silk sheets… I see this one as one of THE best celebrity perfumes EVER! And not because it is a very close copy of Narcisco Rodriguez, just softer, but because it is very outstanding! Outstanding from the hundreds of other celebrity fragrances which are always described as sexy, for confident woman, statement and in fact they are most of the time nothing of all that!Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely is more like the dry down effect of Narcisso Rodriques For Her (without the stronger minty fresh note in For Her's first chord). Lovely is a soft, powdery, discreet, and very intimate fragrance, announced as a "silky white amber fragrance." It possesses an elegance characteristic of classic fragrances, and yet the fragrance is quite modern and very charming. Lovely is a 2005 perfume released by Sarah Jessica Parker. Parker’s first fragrance, Lovely is a light floral musk based on a blend Parker had made for herself. The perfume’s formal development was the subject of a 2008 book by New York Times perfume critic Chandler Burr called The Perfect Scent: A Year Behind the Scenes of the Perfume Industry in Paris and New York. I was thinking of gifting it to my mother, but now I may keep it and then get another one for her. Very nice bedtime scent as others said, and last time I tested it, it gave a gentle scent cloud for at least 6 hrs.

I immediately see her wearing the tulle ballerina tutu like dress that was just a puff of soft ballet pink. The dress is famous, this may have been the dress she wore in the original marketing for Sex and the City. It smells as I remember - soft, inviting, cozy, elegant. It's like the gray cashmere sweater of fragrances. To some, it might seem boring. But to me it's classic, timeless, and versatile, and works in most situations: at home, brunch with friends, a casual dinner out with my husband, running errands. It's also a great office fragrance.

And lastly...yes...it is the cheaper (98% identical beautiful smell) of Narciso Rodriguez For Her. Give it a try everyone. Smells absolutely "Lovely" as it's perfectly named.

Cole, Bethan (November 4, 2011). "Are they not fragrant?". Financial Times. Archived from the original on May 8, 2018 . Retrieved May 7, 2018. This is a soft approachable classic perfume, the comments that this has a "masculine" note... that's not my experience of this perfume. This is ultra feminine. This would be versatile and comfortable ANYWHERE, in fact - I don't know a place where this perfume would NOT be appropriate. These are different, but there is a similar DNA in the drydowns. BL is a much lighter wearing experience, and more fruity-floral forward, while Lovely (OG) has the prominent lavender note. As they dry down, however they become more and more similar. Lovely (OG) outperforms. Novak, Lexi (2015). "Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely". Allure. Archived from the original on April 16, 2018 . Retrieved April 15, 2018.

I ended up liking this, but I did not experience what most other people seem to experience! (The whole "lavender/bergamot/martini/orange" thing? I didn't get any of that. At ALL. Which, as it turned out, was fine in the end.) These are different, but they have a very similar vibe with musk & MiddleEastern leaning florals. Lovely is similar to a cross between NRFH-EDP and NRFH-EDT, but has the lavender up top. Roughly equivalent performance. The first time I tried on Lovely, I wrote it off as a cheap, skin scent rip-off of Narciso for Her, but my relationship to it changed fast. When I contemplated giving my sample away in a swap, I found myself clinging to it, not wanting to let go for some reason. It didn't take long for me to start reaching for Lovely far more often than I wear Narciso for Her, and I think that's for a couple of reasons, first being: it's just so easy to wear. It was one of the first skin scents that made me understand skin scents, because I think a lot of the most popular perfumes in that category are pretty imperceptible. I'd try on something like Not a Perfume and not really be able to smell it myself, thus wondering what the point was of me even wearing it. I wouldn't understand people raving about those kinds of scents, saying things like, "It's just for me— it's not for anyone else." But Lovely fits that bill perfectly, because it is kind of a thin blanket that I for sure can notice, but isn't going to necessarily be noticeable by others, and it likely won't give anyone a headache. In an increasingly ableist world where plenty of people respond to perfume with discomfort, the kind of compassion I sense in Lovely's throw is very admirable. It's polite. (Definitely a Libra.)

Shapouri, Beth (October 22, 2015). "6 Fascinating Fragrance Facts We Bet You Never Knew About Sarah Jessica Parker". Glamour. Archived from the original on April 16, 2018 . Retrieved April 15, 2018. NOTTT for little girls. This fragrance is for women! It's a strong...mature...(not old ladyish), musky apple martini. It's VERY refreshing in the warm weather but in my opinion, it's very versatile and can be worn all year long. It is like extracting the basic essence of the perfume notes (although it is missing the minty-fresh note that I smell in NRFH...and has replaced that note with more of a powdery type note). It has a good sillage and lasting power, and work amazingly good during the colder period of the year when it keeps my mind clear and also during the warm period of the year when it just calms me down. So this is a total winner for me! All year round perfume! Sounds great? It smells also great!
