Autek Mor - Iron Father and Lord of the Morragul Clan during the Horus Heresy, later became the first Chapter Master of the Red Talons. [21e] M41: Damocles Crusade — The Iron Hands contributed forces to the Crusade, battling T'au Empire forces on the world of Dal'yth [14] When Manus' hands were coated with a silvery metal that melted from the Silver Wyrm's body, that material was absorbed into his skin and became a part of his body rather than injuring him. This would accord with the way necrodermis has been observed to act by Imperial scholars, though this remains only conjecture. Iron Warriors Primarch Perturabo holding the reforged Forgebreaker, following its conversion into a Daemon Weapon.

The Iron Hands also eschew the traditional office of Chaplain in favor of their Iron Fathers, specially trained Techmarines who serve to protect the faith of their brethren; some outsiders view this, as well as the Iron Hands' ties to the Adeptus Mechanicus, as an unhealthy relationship. [10] Forgechain Ferrus returned to the Medusan clans after his travels, filled with new and wonderful ideas, which he taught to all who wished to learn. He was able to craft strange and powerful tools and objects out of metal, shaping them with his living metal hands without even the need for a hammer or forge. Under his tutelage, the clans of Medusa became much stronger than they had been before his arrival and became capable of wonders that they never could have imagined possible. It was a time of greatness for the people of Medusa -- the civilisation of the clans advanced at a tremendous pace and the Medusan people became strong and proud. Ferrus was eventually adopted by the Medusan clans as one of their own. He never interfered in the various clans' conflicts, believing that such competition was healthy for his people and should be allowed to thrive. Because of this impartiality, Ferrus was ultimately accepted universally as an honourary member of every Medusan clan, and great (often exaggerated) legends like the one above were told of his deeds. When the Gorgon, as he had become known, strode forth from the forbidden realms of sundered Medusa to batter the disparate clans of his world into submission to his overlordship, he was already thought of as a living god by its natives. But while he did not require of the Medusans worship and did nothing to encourage it, he demanded obedience to his will, and bloodily broke any who would contest his word. Nor did he quell conflict or bring peace upon the planet, but instead he gave the Iron Fathers -- the half Tech-priests, half-shamans who ministered to the clans' spiritual and technological needs -- the fruits of his own intervention in exchange for the technological secrets they had kept down the generations. Through the Gorgon's teachings the Medusan clans then forged better weapons and stronger machines with which to fight to prove their worth to survive. After the events of the Battle of Isstvan V the Iron Hands lost most of their veteran forces. Therefore, suits of Terminator armour are even more rare than normally is the case. Due to this the deployment of full Terminator Squads is also rare. However, sergeants are often equipped with suits of Terminator armour as the inspirational value they provide to their squads is invaluable. [10] Recruitment

M41: Siege of Hypnoth — The Iron Hands contribute to the Imperial defence of Hypnoth against the Necrons [15] Sometime in mid-to-late M41, the hammer would find its way into the armory of the Blood Ravens Astartes chapter. [3]. However, by 999.M41, it had been reclaimed and once again wielded by Perturabo. Before they can be wiped out, Ferrus Manus suddenly appears in the midst of the battle, turning the tide. The arrival of Santar and reinforcements secures the day. In a show of respect, the surviving humans are inducted as the first members of the Iron Hands valued mortal auxiliary; the Chainveil. Adopted Sons of Medusa, their purpose is to stand as a living reminder that not all flesh is weak. When the Horus Heresy first erupted and plunged the newborn Imperium into a galaxy-wide civil war, the Iron Hands Legion was too far from Terra to intervene directly in the climactic battle of the conflict. Their Primarch Ferrus Manus was enraged by the weakness of those Legions who fell to Chaos, particularly with his closest brother amongst the primarchs, Fulgrim of the Emperor's Children, and by his own inability to face the Traitors. Ferrus Manus gathered together his most Veteran Astartes and departed for the Isstvan System.

Throughout an Iron Hand's lifetime, he grows ever more bitter towards his foes and ever more resentful of his own flesh. He appears to come to hate himself, or his biological form at least, like a man forcibly garbed in filth-encrusted rags. More of his organs and limbs are replaced with bionic augmetics, each inherently superior to the original. To some outsiders, this is a supreme blasphemy, for many of the organs eventually discarded are those that make a Space Marine what he is, and which are the direct inheritance of the Emperor and the primarch. In the 41st Millennium, presumably this mighty weapon is still in the possession of the Daemon Primarch Perturabo, who resides on the Daemon World of Medrengard deep within the Warp rift known as the Eye of Terror. Sam has described the Jaghatai Khan miniature as “grounded and confident” – a perfect mix of aggression and restraint – as well as providing loads more info on how this staggering miniature was designed. So much indeed, that we gave the Khan his own article – a must-read for fans of the White Scars and miniature design.

M41: Defence of Fabris Callivant — The Iron Hands defended the homeworld of their allies, House Callivant, from Ork forces. [37b] [37c] errus Manus, primarch of the Iron Hands Legion, was a figure of legend among the people of his home world of Medusa, and was named by them ‘the Gorgon’ after the most ancient of mythic creatures. Ferrus is among the strongest of the primarchs and this fact is reflected in this massive stature, which dwarfs many of his brothers. Sire of the Word Bearers– Lorgar has the Crusader special rule and confers this to any unit he joins , while he is on the table ( not in a transport ) all models with the legiones astartes (Word Bearers) special rule may use his leadership for all morale and pinning tests.

Much about the formative years of Ferrus Manus on Medusa remains unknown, not so much through any deliberate veil of secrecy perhaps, but because what was later retold by the Medusans themselves was filtered through the barbaric folk-memory of their culture, while the Gorgon himself was taciturn on the matter to any save the Emperor. There have been many who have studied the formative situations of the Primarchs who have drawn parallels between the conditions in which Vulkan found himself on Nocturne and Ferrus Manus encountered on Medusa; both were found on savage, barren worlds riven by hostile conditions and both were home to primitive cultures, long cut off from the rest of Mankind during the Age of Strife. But beyond these surface features, the two worlds and, in particular, those who dwelled upon them could not have been more different. Where is Ferrus Manus in Warhammer 40k?

The granting of this boon was the embodiment of a new pact between the Warmaster and the Iron Warriors' primarch, a gift from Horus to Perturabo intended to symbolise Perturabo and the Iron Warriors' newfound allegiance to the Warmaster rather than the Emperor. Fools claimed that Forgebreaker had sealed the pact between Horus and the Iron Warriors, but only Perturabo knew it was Horus' forgiveness for the massacre his Legion had perpetrated against the population of Olympia that truly bound the Iron Warriors to Horus Lupercal. All models with the special rule legiones astartes ( Iron Hands ) in an army containing Ferrus Manus gain the Feel no Pain ( 6+ ) special rule (unless they already possess a superior version of this rule ). Sam: “ Perturabo wasn’t one of mine, but he’s impressively huge and bulky, wearing Terminator armour which includes many integrated weapons systems. He wields his dead brother Ferrus’ hammer Forgebreaker, and stands atop a ruined Cerastus Knight.” Corvus Corax, Primarch of the Raven Guard For the best viewing experience, we recommend using old reddit version - https://old.reddit.com/r/40kLore/ Liberation of Odissar — Iron Captain Rakk Golloth is slain when his gunship is downed by enemy fire.
